What is LLumar ATC window film?
ATC is LLumar’s dyed window film, made in one colour: charcoal. At Brookswood Tint every starting price is built on it, so start here if you want shade, privacy and UV protection without paying for ceramic.
LLumar calls ATC a “durable, scratch-resistant dyed window tint”. It says the charcoal is integrated into the film rather than applied only to the surface, as some other brands do, and credits that for ATC’s durability and colour stability (LLumar ATC product page). On the spec sheet every shade carries a full product name, such as ATC 35 CH SR HPR (Charcoal). The film has no metal layer, so it doesn’t get in the way of phone, GPS or radio signals.
LLumar ATC specs for all seven shades
LLumar’s sheet lists seven ATC shades, and the shop sells four of them. Every figure below is from LLumar’s performance data sheet, LL0116NAEN dated 03/26. LLumar tests each film on a single pane of clear 6 mm glass following NFRC guidelines, so the glass in your car will read differently.

What each ATC column tells you
- VLT (visible light transmission) is the share of daylight that gets through. Lower is darker.
- TSER (total solar energy rejected) counts everything the sun sends: UV, visible light and infrared. It’s the closest single figure to “how much cooler”.
- IRER (infrared energy rejection) covers solar infrared from 780 to 2,500 nm and includes heat the film absorbs and gives off again, which is why the sheet calls it “a more complete measurement”.
- SIRR (selective IR rejection) is the share of solar infrared not directly transmitted through the glass. It reads higher than IRER and sits behind most “blocks X% of infrared” claims.
- Glare reduction is a figure LLumar calculates; visible reflection is the daylight that bounces off the glass.
- UV is above 99% between 300 and 380 nm in every shade, light or dark.
ATC’s shade names are not its measured VLT
The number in a LLumar shade name is a product code. ATC 50 measures 60%, so the shop’s 50% is 10 points lighter than its name suggests. ATC 15 measures 18% and ATC 35 measures 38%. Only ATC 05 measures what it’s called. Comparing quotes or matching another car? Compare measured VLT, not names.
Why darker ATC rejects more heat
IRER stays at 22% and SIRR at 28–29% from the lightest ATC to the darkest, so a darker shade adds no infrared rejection at all. TSER still climbs from 28% to 44% because a darker film keeps out more visible light, which is part of the sun’s energy. With a dyed film, the heat you keep out comes from the shade itself.
Where ATC can go on a car in BC
Behind the driver, any ATC shade is legal, 5% included. MVAR s. 7.05(8) lets film go on any side glass behind the driver’s seat, on the rear window when outside mirrors are fitted on both sides, and across the top of the windshield to a depth of 75 mm. It sets no darkness percentage, so rear doors, quarter windows, back glass, an SUV’s hatch and a pickup’s rear slider can all take ATC 05.
The shop also lists front-door packages matched to the rear shade and fits them when a customer asks, but film on the two front door windows is not road-legal in BC at any shade, 50% included. A tint ticket “typically carries a fine of $109” (Mission RCMP), and police can issue a Notice & Order to remove the tint and have the car inspected at a designated inspection facility, with a $598 fine if it isn’t inspected within 30 days. You’ll hear that risk from the shop before you decide, and the front-window rule in BC is set out in full on its own page.
How long the ATC warranty lasts
ATC is covered for life: the film by LLumar’s manufacturer’s lifetime limited warranty, the workmanship by Brookswood Tint’s own. LLumar’s wording adds “Certain restrictions apply; see dealer for warranty details” (LLumar window tint FAQ), and the same FAQ names discolouration as something that warranty may cover. The warranty page sets out what each film carries.
How ATC compares with IRX and AIR
IRX and AIR are the shop’s two ceramics. Next to IRX in the same named shade, ATC gives up 18 to 22 points of TSER and 38 to 39 points of IRER, in exchange for a lower price. AIR suits anyone after heat and UV control with almost no visible change.
| ATC, dyed | IRX, ceramic | AIR, clear ceramic | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shades sold | 5, 15, 35, 50% | 5, 15, 35, 50% | 70, 80, 90% |
| TSER | 28–44% | 50–62% | 30–43% (80 and 90) |
| IRER | 22% | 59–61% | 40–60% (80 and 90) |
| UV | >99% | >99% | >99% |

Full tables are on the LLumar IRX nano ceramic film and LLumar AIR clear ceramic film pages, ceramic vs dyed window tint sets the two film types side by side, and what tint percentage to get helps with the shade.
What ATC costs at Brookswood Tint
Every starting price on the window tint price list assumes ATC. Most cars leave the same day; doing every window of a sedan or SUV typically takes 2–4 hours.
| Package | ATC from | Road-legal in BC |
|---|---|---|
| Sports coupe, rear glass (3 windows) | $220 | Yes |
| Sedan or pickup, rear glass (5) | $240 | Yes |
| Full-size SUV or wagon, rear glass (7) | $260 | Yes |
| Sedan, coupe or wagon, front doors | $140 | No |
| Full-size SUV or pickup, front doors | $160 | No |
| Full windshield, from the inside | $200 | No |
A whole-car job is usually priced below the sum of its packages, so the shop quotes bundles per vehicle. The plotter cuts each piece for your exact year, make and model before it’s heat-shrunk to the glass by hand. To book, send the vehicle and the shade you want.
