Headlight & Taillight Tint

Smoked and clear film for headlights and taillights

Subtle, sleek, and functional. Tinted light film adds a refined custom look while helping protect lenses from cracking, pitting, and UV wear. Whether you want a smoked aesthetic or just extra durability, this film blends form and function with a factory-quality finish.

We use STEK light-protection films, heat-formed to each housing so the tint reads as a factory option rather than an add-on.

Shades

Light film shades: 30% and 50% smoke, yellow and clear

Light smoke, 50%

50% VLT

A subtle darkening that keeps output and looks OEM-plus. The choice for daily drivers and anything with amber signals in the housing.

Dark smoke, 30%

30% VLT

A bold, blacked-out look for taillights and fog lights. Pairs with a chrome delete for a full blackout.

Yellow and clear

Clear or yellow

Motorsport yellow for the front, or fully clear protection film that guards the lens without changing the look at all.

Tinted film on forward-facing lights reduces output. We'll advise which shade is appropriate for headlights versus taillights and fog lights on your vehicle.

Asked at the counter

Questions about headlight & taillight tint

Straight answers about headlight & taillight tint. Anything else, call or text the shop.

01Is tinted headlight film legal in BC?

Smoked film can fail. BC's 2025 Vehicle Inspection Manual rejects a lamp whose lens reduces the transmission of light or "is covered in any manner", so smoked or yellow film on headlights, taillights or signals can fail an inspection or draw a ticket, and even clear film may be questioned. Light smoke on taillights is the common styling choice; we explain the inspection risk before we install, and the film peels off cleanly if a car has to pass.

02Will the film yellow or peel?

STEK light film is made for the heat a lens sees and is warranted for seven years against yellowing, cracking and peeling. The failures you see online are cheap dyed films or DIY installs with lifted edges.

03Can I remove it later?

Yes. The film lifts cleanly with heat and leaves the lens exactly as it was, which is why it's the safe alternative to painting or smoking lenses permanently.

04Does it protect against rock chips?

That's most of the point. Modern polycarbonate lenses pit and star on gravel roads; the film takes the hit and self-heals light scuffs with heat.

05How long does it take?

Two to three hours for a pair of headlights or taillights. Complex housings with deep recesses take longer because every piece is heat-formed by hand.
