Subaru WRX Headlight & Taillight Tint in Langley

At a glance

Brookswood Tint fits STEK smoke film to a Subaru WRX's taillights at 50% or 30%, and smoke, yellow or clear film to the headlights; each pair takes two to three hours and is priced for the car. Every 2026 WRX has LED combination tail lamps, and BC's 2025 inspection manual can reject a lamp whose lens is covered or passes less light, so the shop goes through that risk with you before any film is cut.

What does WRX taillight tint involve?

It’s STEK light film, cut and fitted to the lens of each lamp, about two to three hours a pair and priced for your car. Smoke comes in two strengths for taillights; headlights can also take yellow or clear.

WRX lamps STEK film Fitting time
Taillights Smoke, 50% (lighter) or 30% (darker) About 2 to 3 hours
Headlights Smoke, yellow or clear About 2 to 3 hours
Both pairs Any mix About 2 to 3 hours per pair

The shop publishes a seven-year warranty on STEK film against yellowing, cracking and peeling. The film itself is described on the STEK light film page, and the rear-only job on the smoked taillights page.

Which lamps does each 2026 WRX trim have?

All five Canadian trims use LED lighting front and rear, but the headlights differ. Subaru Canada’s 2026 WRX specifications list them like this:

2026 WRX Sport Sport-tech, GT, tS, Kaminari Edition
Headlights LED with High Beam Assist LED steering-responsive with High Beam Assist
Daytime running lights LED LED, C-shaped
Tail lights LED combination LED combination
Fog lights LED LED
Turn signals in the mirrors No Yes

Subaru Canada’s safety page adds that the steering-responsive lamps angle into a turn and that the headlights switch on automatically with the wipers. At the back, Subaru of America said when it launched the 2022 WRX that the tail lamps were designed to glow “with a look reminiscent of volcanic magma.” Smoke film dims that glow by design, so decide how much of it you want to keep before choosing between 50% and 30%.

Which WRX lamp recalls should you check before filming?

Two NHTSA campaigns touch WRX lighting, one for each generation. Check your VIN with Subaru Canada or Transport Canada to see whether a Canadian car is included.

  • 23V-016, filed January 2023. Covers 2022 WRX models with EyeSight: the owner’s manual may give incorrect instructions for adjusting High Beam Assist sensitivity. The fix is a corrected insert for the manual.
  • 22V-522, filed July 2022. Covers 2015 to 2021 WRX models: the backup light switch may corrode, leaving the reverse lights dark and the rearview camera blank in reverse. Dealers inspect and replace the switch.

On an older car, confirm the reverse lights come on before the tail lamps are filmed, so a switch fault isn’t later blamed on the film.

Can a WRX with smoked lamps pass a BC inspection?

It can fail. Section 6, item 1.0(a) of BC’s 2025 Vehicle Inspection Manual rejects a lamp whose lens “reduces transmission of light” or “is covered in any manner.” Smoke film reduces the light from a WRX’s brake and tail lamps, yellow film changes a headlight’s colour, and even clear film may be questioned by an inspector.

The shop explains that before you decide. For the regulation behind it, see whether tinted headlights are legal in BC, and for how much light smoke takes away, does taillight tint make brake lights dimmer.

How do you book light film for a WRX in Langley?

Give the year and trim, which lamps you want covered and the shade, and whether any recall work is still open. Each pair is a short appointment, so it fits around other work like a WRX wrap or tint. Request a price through the light film quote form, or call 604 534 6433.

Questions about WRX taillight tint

01Will 30% smoke make my WRX's brake lights hard to see?

It makes them noticeably dimmer than 50% does, because smoke film only passes part of the light behind it. That loss of light is the reason smoked lamps are an inspection risk in BC.

02Can the shop film only the WRX's taillights?

Yes. The rear pair can be done on its own, and each pair of lamps is priced separately.

03Do steering-responsive headlights still turn with film on them?

Film goes on the outside of the lens, so it doesn't touch the parts that move. What it changes is the colour and amount of light coming through, which is where the inspection question comes in.

04Can STEK film come off before I sell the car or book an inspection?

It's an applied film rather than a coating, so it can be taken off. If an inspection is coming up, ask the shop about removing it beforehand.
