What does WRX window tint cost?
The glass behind a WRX’s front seats starts at $240 in LLumar ATC dyed film, on the sedan rear package: both rear door windows and the back window. Ceramic film, the sunroof and the windshield are priced on top.
| WRX job | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear door windows and back glass | LLumar ATC dyed | $240 |
| The same glass in ceramic | LLumar IRX or AIR | Quoted per package |
| Sunroof (Sport-tech, GT) | Any | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front doors | Any | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | Any | $200, only the top 75 mm is legal |
Each piece is cut on the plotter from your model year’s pattern, so no blade is drawn across the glass or trim, then shrunk to the curve with heat and squeegeed by hand. Film and labour carry a lifetime warranty. The sedan tint page explains the package for four-door cars in general.
Does the WRX come with factory privacy glass?
No. Subaru Canada’s 2026 WRX specifications list a laminated UV-protection windshield with a wiper de-icer, a rear defogger with timer and a black window surround on every trim, but no privacy glass. None of the five 2026 trims, from the Sport to the Kaminari Edition, has it listed.
That makes the WRX simpler to plan than a crossover with dark factory glass: the film does nearly all of the darkening. Measured on clear 6 mm glass, LLumar’s performance data sheet puts ATC 35 at 38% visible light and IRX 35 at 39%; real cars vary with their own glass, so treat those figures as a guide rather than the finished reading. For heat, IRX rejects 50 to 62% of total solar energy against 28 to 44% for ATC.
Subaru Canada also describes a “steeply raked windshield” and “generous glass area” on the 2026 WRX safety page. The back window carries the defogger lines, and film on that glass goes over them on the inside.
Which WRX trims have a sunroof?
Only the Sport-tech and GT on the 2026 sheet. Subaru Canada lists a power tilting and sliding sunroof with a sunshade for those two and none for the Sport, tS or Kaminari Edition. If yours has one, film on it trims heat and glare from above; it’s quoted separately, and the sunroof tint page explains how.
Do EyeSight cameras affect windshield tint on a WRX?
On a 2026 car, yes, because every one has them. Subaru Canada says EyeSight “utilizes two cameras” watching the road ahead and is now standard on all WRX models, and Subaru of America’s 2026 WRX pricing release adds that this now includes manual-transmission cars.
That’s a change within the current generation. When Subaru of America introduced the 2022 WRX, it listed EyeSight as standard only on trims with the automatic. So an early manual car may have no cameras behind the mirror, while a newer one does. Where they’re fitted, keep film out of the cameras’ view and read your manual’s EyeSight section before any windshield work; windshield tint and driver-assist cameras compares how carmakers word this.
What can be tinted on a WRX under BC law?
The two rear door windows and the back glass can go as dark as you like. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), film is permitted on side glass to the rear of the driver, and on a back window as long as the car has mirrors outside on the left and right, which a WRX does.
Nothing is permitted on the driver’s or front passenger’s door glass, clear film included, and windshield film has to stay within 75 mm of the top edge. If you ask for the fronts anyway, the shop does the work but first sets out the consequences: a fine that usually comes to $109, a possible police order to strip the film and pass an inspection, and a likely fail at that inspection. BC’s front-window rules have the detail.
What should you send to book WRX tint?
Send the year and trim, which tells the shop whether there’s a sunroof and EyeSight cameras to plan around, and the shade you have in mind. A full sedan usually takes two to four hours and goes home the same day. Afterwards, leave the tinted windows rolled up for three to five days while the film cures. The WRX tint quote form takes those details, or phone the shop on 604 534 6433.
