How much does PPF cost on a WRX?
LLumar Platinum on a WRX starts at $850 for a partial front and $1,550 for a full front. The Track Package is $1,900 and up, and covering every painted panel starts at $4,000.
| Package | Panels | From |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Full bumper, front part of the hood and fenders, headlights, mirrors | $850 |
| Full Front | Whole hood, whole front fenders, full bumper, headlights, mirrors | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Full front, plus part of the roof, the A-pillars and the rocker panels | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | All painted surfaces and the headlights | $4,000 |
The final number depends on panel complexity and paint condition; the paint is decontaminated, and corrected where it needs it, before any film goes down. Platinum heals light swirls with heat and carries LLumar’s 10-year limited warranty; the shop lists yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling as covered.
What is the WRX’s front end made of?
Aluminum, at the panels that take the most stones. When Subaru of America launched the fifth-generation 2022 WRX, it said the front fenders were now aluminum to save weight, and described a “broad front hood scoop” between compact LED headlights. Subaru Canada’s 2026 WRX specifications list an aluminum hood with a functional hood scoop on every trim.
The scoop’s raised front lip faces oncoming grit, and so do the bumper face, the hood’s leading edge and the tops of the fenders. Film on those surfaces takes the hit before the paint does. Does PPF stop rock chips explains what it can and can’t absorb.
Which WRX surfaces are paint and which are cladding?
The upper body is paint; the wheel arches, sills and lower bumpers are black cladding on every 2026 trim, per Subaru Canada, with an underbody rear diffuser below. Subaru’s 2022 release says the moulded wheel arches and lower trim carry an “aerodynamic texture” meant to cut drag.
The same release describes an air outlet at the trailing edge of each front wheel opening and another at each side of the rear bumper. Those vents break up the painted surface behind the front wheels and at the back corners, so the film is cut around them. Since the cladding isn’t painted, the packages’ prices are built on the painted panels between it.
Does a WRX that sees track days need more than a full front?
It can. The Track Package adds part of the roof and the A-pillars, forward-facing surfaces that a full front leaves bare. On a WRX the rocker part of that package meets black cladding, so ask the shop what it would cover on your car before choosing it.
For heavy gravel or track use, LLumar makes Platinum Extra, which it calls its thickest film, “made for gravel roads, track racing, and harsh weather”; ask whether it suits your plans. The track day paint protection guide covers preparing a car for lapping days.
What does the shop need to quote WRX PPF?
Tell the shop the model year, trim and paint colour: Subaru Canada’s exterior page notes the tS and Kaminari Edition get a black painted rear spoiler where other trims are body-coloured, which matters for a Full Vehicle job. A partial front is usually one day, a full front or Track Package one to two, and full coverage three to five. The Track Package page details that option, and the WRX PPF quote form is the place to ask for an exact figure, or call 604 534 6433.
