What does PPF on a Lexus NX cost?
Partial Front for an NX costs from $850 in LLumar Platinum, and Full Front from $1,550. Extra trim to work around, or paint that needs correcting first, can lift either figure.
| Package | Price from | Panels on an NX |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | $850 | Whole bumper, leading part of hood and fenders, both headlights, both mirrors |
| Full Front | $1,550 | Hood and fenders edge to edge, with the bumper, both headlights and both mirrors |
| Track Package | $1,900 | The Full Front panels, plus A-pillars, rockers and a leading strip of roof |
| Full Vehicle | $4,000 | All the NX’s paint, headlights included |
Warmth lets light marks in Platinum’s top coat level out again. LLumar warrants Platinum for 10 years under a manufacturer’s limited warranty; the shop’s own terms spell out four covered defects: yellowing, cracking, bubbling, peeling. Each piece is cut by software, and the installer wraps the edges round wherever a panel gives room. Partial or full front compares the two most common choices.
Where does an NX pick up chips?
Mostly across the nose and the hood. Lexus describes the 2022 redesign as having “a very long, sleek front and truncated rear”, with the hood’s top surface “extending the full length”, in its design story on the new NX. A long, wide hood facing traffic is a large target for gravel thrown up on Highway 1 in winter.
The face is busy too. The 2022 NX launch release says the spindle grille is “made up of tall U-shaped blocks” for a three-dimensional effect, framed by L-shaped daytime running lights above. The grille itself isn’t paint, but the painted bumper around it and the headlights beside it take the hits. That’s why both front packages include the full bumper and the headlights.
| NX area | Partial Front | Full Front |
|---|---|---|
| Bumper around the spindle grille | Covered | Covered |
| Hood | Leading section | Whole panel |
| Fenders | Leading section | Whole panels |
| Headlights and mirrors | Covered | Covered |
Does an NX F SPORT need more coverage?
It has more paint low down, so it can. The same launch release lists a dedicated F SPORT grille and front and rear bumpers, and “color-key overfenders” framing the wheels. Lexus USA’s 2026 NX specification sheet still lists colour-keyed overfenders as standard on the F SPORT Handling grade only.
Painted arch mouldings are right in the line of tire spray, and the front packages are written around the hood, fenders and bumper. On an F SPORT, ask whether the overfenders are in the quote, or look at the Track Package, which takes in the rocker panels below the doors. Obsidian is listed only on F SPORT Handling for 2026, and the shop’s matte Platinum would turn that gloss paint satin, so choose the finish before the template is cut.
What does the film have to clear on an NX?
Sensors in the bumpers. Lexus’s design story says the Safe Exit Assist sensors are built into the bumper, and the 2026 specification sheet lists Intuitive Parking Assist with auto braking as standard on every US grade.
Tell the shop which driver aids your grade has, so the pattern can be checked against every sensor position before the film is cut; the aim is film edges that run around a sensor, not across it. Bumpers are also where a relief cut is sometimes unavoidable to get the film around a tight curve; when that happens, you’ll be shown the spot first. If a sensor warning is already on before the appointment, mention it so nobody blames the film for it.
What’s the next step for NX PPF?
Share the NX’s year, grade and colour and the package you favour. The shop checks the paint, explains any correction it needs, and then turns the starting price into a firm figure.
Plan on a single day for a Partial Front NX. Full Front or Track holds it for a day or two, and filming the whole vehicle takes three to five days. Don’t wash the NX for its first week back; when you do, wash by hand or touchless and skip brush tunnels. Ask for a price on the NX PPF quote form. The same NX’s glass is covered on the Lexus NX window tint page, and whether PPF stops rock chips explains the limits of film.
