What sets the price of an X3 chrome delete?
The trim itself: which pieces on your X3 are bright, and which of those you want black. There’s no list price, because a 2020 X3 on standard trim and a 2025 X3 M50 have very different amounts of trim left to cover.
Your choice of film is 3M or Avery Dennison cast vinyl, gloss black or satin; the shop’s published vinyl warranty runs five years. What bright trim did the G01 X3 launch with?
In standard xLine form, quite a lot. BMW Canada’s 2018 X3 release says the standard xLine design “stands out with numerous trim elements in Satin aluminum and Silver matte”. The M Sport Package swaps those for what BMW calls “Shadowline exterior trim”.

Which 2025-on X3s still have trim to black out?
Mainly those without the M Sport Pro Package. BMW Canada’s 2025 X3 release lists “Black Exterior Contents” in M Sport Pro, alongside Shadowline Lights and Full LED headlights. BMW USA’s version of the release calls the same item “Extended Shadowline trim”, which tells you that on a BMW, Shadowline means black.
An X3 30 xDrive without that package keeps whatever bright finish BMW gave it, and that’s the trim a vinyl delete covers. The shop quotes from what’s actually on your car, so send photos of the window line and grille.
Can the badges and kidney grille be blacked out?
Yes, in vinyl. BMW does the same thing itself: the Black Package for the X3 M50 xDrive, available from December 2026, renders the M logos and model badges “in high-gloss black with a silver outline”. The grille needs more thought on the new X3. The 2025 release says the illuminated kidney grille with contour lighting is standard on the M50 and optional on the X3 30 xDrive, so a grille delete there sits next to a light. What stays as BMW made it?
The lamps. The 2025 release describes a “satin-finished horizontal bar with integral turn signal indicators” in the X3’s rear lights. That bar belongs to the lamp. Section 6, item 1.0(a) of the 2025 Vehicle Inspection Manual is why it stays bare on a BC car: a lens “covered in any manner” is a reject.
