Where is the bright trim on a Jeep Wrangler?
Almost all of it is in the seven-slot grille, the rings around the round headlamps on some years, and the badges. The mirrors aren’t part of it: every 2026 trim comes with mold-in-colour folding mirrors, according to Jeep’s Canadian feature list, so there are no bright caps to cover.

Which parts of a Wrangler grille can go black?
The slots, the bezels around them and the surround can all take black vinyl, and on a Sahara that’s where the change is most visible. Covering the platinum silver slots and bezels turns the whole front from bright to dark without touching the paint.
- Slots and bezels. These are the accent pieces, and the main job on most Jeeps. On a High Altitude or Willys, Jeep has already done part of it in gloss black.
- Surround. It’s body colour on the 2024 grille. Wrapping it black as well gives a fully dark face; leaving it body colour keeps the outline of the grille.
- Headlamp rings. On a 2023 Sahara or Rubicon, the accent rings sit around the lenses. Vinyl goes on the ring, never on the lens, so the shop checks how close each ring sits before quoting it.
- A Whitecap grille. Jeep paints the Whitecap’s seven-slot grille Bright White. Vinyl can take that black too, if the white has worn on you.

Which Wrangler badges and decals are worth blacking out?
Usually the nameplate, the trim badge and the Trail Rated badge. Jeep’s 2018 launch kit says every Wrangler receives a Trail Rated badge, so every Jeep in this generation has at least that one to consider.
Special editions add their own. The 2026 85th Anniversary edition wears Blue Agave anniversary badges and decals with bronze tow hooks. Badges are wrapped one at a time, and they come off the body first when they can, so the vinyl covers the whole piece. How does black vinyl hold up on a Jeep that goes off-road?
The shop’s own estimate for cast vinyl on trim is five years or more with sensible care, backed by the 5-year manufacturer warranty it publishes for the film. A Wrangler that spends weekends on forest service roads asks more of it: grille pieces collect grit and brush, and the edges take the hardest wear.

How do you get a Wrangler blackout quoted in Langley?
There’s no list price for a blackout, so each Jeep is quoted from what’s on it. Send the year, trim, any special edition, clear photos of the grille, both sides and the swing gate, and a note of which badges you want black and which you’d rather keep.
