Dealership Tint & PPF Services in Langley

At a glance

Brookswood Tint tints and films new and used inventory for car dealers, with one shade profile per model, block-booked units and invoiced work. Published starting prices are $220 to $260 for rear-glass tint and $850 for LLumar Platinum PPF; dealer work is quoted per vehicle. Cars sold in BC should leave with film-free front side windows, because a dealer must not sell a vehicle that breaks the Motor Vehicle Act or its regulations.

What can a dealership send to the shop?

New inventory for tint, PPF and coating, and used inventory for the reconditioning jobs that come up before a sale. Dealer work is not new here: on RevScene, a Lower Mainland car forum, a member once noted that dealers send their new cars to Brookswood.

Job Typical use Published starting price Time
LLumar window tint, rear glass New units, customer add-ons $220 coupe, $240 sedan or pickup, $260 SUV or wagon (ATC) 2–4 hours; most cars same day
LLumar Platinum PPF Delivery packages, high-line units From $850 (Partial Front) or $1,550 (Full Front) 1 day partial; 1–2 days full front
Graphene-ceramic coating Delivery packages Quoted per vehicle 1–3 days
Paint correction Swirls from prep washes, tired trade-ins Quoted after inspection About a day for one stage
Tint removal Trade-ins with front film or failed tint Priced per window 1–3 hours
Headlight restoration Trade-ins with yellow or clouded lenses Quoted per vehicle About an hour to half a day

Either ceramic film, IRX or the near-clear AIR, can replace ATC on any job, quoted per package. Tint jobs come with LLumar’s lifetime limited film warranty plus the shop’s lifetime labour warranty; Platinum PPF comes with LLumar’s 10-year limited warranty.

How are shades kept consistent across a model line?

Each vehicle type gets a shade profile on file: one film and one shade for its rear glass, so the twentieth unit of a model matches the first. Patterns come off the shop’s plotter matched to year, make and model, so every unit of a model gets the same cut and no knife goes near its glass or trim.

One detail worth passing to your sales staff: LLumar shade names are product codes, not light readings. On LLumar’s spec sheet, ATC 35 measures 38% visible light transmission on clear test glass and IRX 35 measures 39%, and results on a real car vary with its glass. If a buyer asks how dark the windows are, the measured figure is the honest answer. Film details are on the window tint page.

How do block booking and invoicing work?

Units are booked in blocks rather than one at a time, and the work is invoiced to the dealership. Send the list of models and the work each one needs, and the schedule is built around it.

Timing follows the job. Tinting a typical sedan or SUV all round is a two-to-four-hour job, so most units are back the same day; vans, tricky rear glass and cars that need old film stripped first take longer. A Partial Front PPF takes a day in most cases, Full Front and Track Package one to two days, and Full Vehicle three to five. Film needs a week before the first wash, so a unit filmed the day before delivery should go out with that note. Freshly tinted windows shouldn’t be lowered for the first three to five days, which is worth knowing before a test drive.

What does BC law require on a car a dealer sells?

A dealer can’t sell a car that breaks the Motor Vehicle Act or its regulations, and film on the front side windows breaks the regulations. Glass behind the driver can take any shade, provided the car carries outside mirrors left and right.

Section 222 of the Motor Vehicle Act says a person “must not sell, offer for sale, expose or display for sale or deliver over to a purchaser for use” a motor vehicle “that is not in accordance with this Act and the regulations.” The tint rule is MVAR s. 7.05(8): the only places film may go are the windshield’s top 75 mm, any side glass behind the driver, and the rear window if the car has left and right outside mirrors. BC sets no percentage, so clear and near-clear film count too. The 2025 Vehicle Inspection Manual rejects, at item 13d, “any after-market tint (by film or any material or coating)… applied to any side window that is forward of the driver’s seat back”.

So a dealer shade profile covers rear glass only. If a buyer later asks the shop for front film, they hear the same thing any customer does before deciding: front film is not road-legal in BC, the driver risks a $109 fine or a Notice & Order requiring removal and an inspection, and the shop lays that out before anyone commits. BC’s front-window rules are set out in full in can you tint front windows in BC.

How are trade-ins and out-of-province units made ready for sale?

A unit coming from another province has to pass inspection at a designated facility before ICBC will register it in BC, and that inspection fails aftermarket front tint and clouded headlight lenses. Both are fixable in the shop before the car goes in.

Under MVAR 25.24 and 25.25, a vehicle previously registered outside BC (up to 3,500 kg net) is inspected before ICBC registers it. CVSE Circular 08-19 exempts some recent vehicles last registered in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba, but front tint on those is still illegal once they’re driven in BC. Front-two-only tint removal handles the glass, with steam rather than blades on any rear glass that also needs stripping, so the defroster grid survives. The same inspection fails a clouded headlight lens, which is where yellow headlight restoration comes in.

Watch for open police orders on used stock too. According to CVSE, Notice & Orders go into ICBC’s Vehicle Information Database, and one left open blocks licensing and insurance when the car is sold. The steps for clearing one are on the Notice & Order tint removal page, and the inspection route is on tint removal for out-of-province inspection.

Is a dealer account different from a fleet account?

The setup is the same (shade profile per vehicle type, block booking, invoicing), but the cars go somewhere different. A fleet keeps its vehicles in service, so the priority is uptime; a dealer sells them, so every unit has to be legal for the BC buyer who drives it away. Company vans, trucks and service vehicles belong on the fleet tinting page.

Setting up dealer work with the shop

Send the models you stock, the film and coverage you want on each, and roughly how many units a month, through the quote form or by calling or texting 604 534 6433. Ask for a shade profile and a per-vehicle price for each model, and book units from there. Brookswood Tint is at Unit 312, 20560 Langley Bypass, open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 17:00. If your add-on menu already includes a “paint protection” line, compare it with installed film in dealer paint protection packages vs PPF.

Questions about dealership services

01Can near-clear film like LLumar AIR go on the front windows of a car we sell?

No. BC's rule covers any material that reduces the light coming through the front side windows, whatever its shade, so near-clear AIR is in the same position there as dark film.

02How is dealer work priced?

Starting prices are published: rear-glass tint from $220 to $260 by body style and LLumar Platinum PPF from $850. Dealer work is quoted per vehicle once we see the list of models and the work on each.

03Can you strip just the front windows on a trade-in?

Yes. Front-two-only removal is a regular job for cars heading to an inspection, and good rear film can stay where it is. Removal is priced per window and comes off with the adhesive fully dissolved.

04How quickly can new units come back?

Most tint is finished the same day. Film takes longer: a Partial Front is usually a single day, a Full Front up to two. Book the units as a block and the dates are set with you up front.
