What does being a LLumar dealer mean?
A LLumar dealer is an installer inside LLumar’s own network, the network LLumar’s pages send drivers to for installation and warranty. Shops join it through a dealer application.
LLumar’s dealer page puts it this way: “Our dealers receive specialized training, access to market-leading products, and practical resources to ensure each installation meets LLumar’s strict standards.” Its product pages point buyers the same direction: “Rely on LLumar dealers for professional tint and PPF installation,” and “For additional information contact your local LLumar Dealer or Distributor.” Its FAQ adds that the film is “available worldwide through country specific dealers and our global distribution network.”
Which LLumar films does the shop install?
Three LLumar window films and one LLumar paint protection film. The heat figures below are TSER (total solar energy rejected) from LLumar’s performance data sheet, tested on single-pane 6 mm clear test glass; the glass in a real car changes the result.
| LLumar film | Type | Shades on the menu | Heat rejected (TSER) | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ATC | Colour-stable dyed film, charcoal | 5, 15, 35, 50% | 28–44% | Lifetime limited, plus shop workmanship |
| IRX | Infrared-rejecting nano-ceramic | 5, 15, 35, 50% | 50–62% | Lifetime limited, plus shop workmanship |
| AIR | Clear ceramic | 70, 80, 90% | 43% (AIR 80), 30% (AIR 90) | Lifetime limited, plus shop workmanship |
| Platinum PPF | Self-healing paint protection film, gloss or matte | Not applicable | Not applicable | 10-year limited |
All three window films are rated above 99% UV rejection (300–380 nm) on the sheet. Starting prices on the price sheet use ATC; IRX and AIR are quoted upgrades. The shop has also installed LLumar CTX ceramic, on a 911 Turbo S in CTX 15%, but CTX isn’t on the current menu.
Why does it matter that your installer is a LLumar dealer?
Because LLumar routes its warranty through its dealers. The tint FAQ and the Platinum PPF pages close their warranty lines with the same words: “Certain restrictions apply; see dealer for warranty details.”
When the shop that installed your film is a LLumar dealer, the place that answers that footnote is the same place that did the work, and it knows exactly which film and shade went on your car. Film bought online, or installed by someone outside the network, leaves you without that dealer to go back to. What each warranty covers, and how a claim starts, is set out on the warranty page.
How can you check that a shop is a LLumar dealer?
Look it up on LLumar’s own site. LLumar’s FAQ says to open the dealer locator, select “Automotive Tint” and enter your location; the Find a Dealer page sits in the main menu of llumar.com.
Two more checks help. Ask for the film line and shade by name, such as ATC 35 or IRX 15, and make sure they’re written on your invoice. And if you’re weighing LLumar against another brand, compare the published spec sheets rather than shop claims; LLumar vs XPEL window tint does that side by side.
How long has Brookswood Tint been installing film in Langley?
Since 1989. The shop is now on its third owner, Johnny, who took over in 2020, and it describes itself as third-generation and family-run.
Tint patterns are plotter-cut for each year, make and model, which keeps knives off the car’s glass and trim, and each piece is then heat-formed and fitted by hand. Paint protection film is cut from software templates. Customers drive in from Langley, Surrey, Cloverdale, Abbotsford, White Rock, Maple Ridge and Vancouver. The rest of the story is on the about page.
