How much is paint protection film for a Kona?
$850 gets the front of a Kona started, and $4,000 is where coverage of every painted panel begins, all in LLumar Platinum. These are floors: the version, the number of panels and the state of the paint decide the final figure.
| Package | What’s filmed on a Kona | Starting at |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Whole front bumper, headlamps, mirrors, plus a band across the leading hood and fenders | $850 |
| Full Front | Entire hood and both front fenders, with the bumper, headlamps and mirrors | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Full Front, then the A-pillars, the roof’s front section and the rocker panels | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | All paint on the car, headlamps too | $4,000 |
The film heals light scratches with heat, and LLumar backs Platinum Gloss with a 10-year manufacturer’s limited warranty. Under it, the shop’s published terms name four faults: yellowing, cracking, bubbling, peeling. Prep comes first: decontamination to lift fallout from the Kona’s paint, then correction only where the paint calls for it. Time in the bay: roughly one day at the Partial level, a day or two at Full Front or Track level, and 3 to 5 days when every panel gets film.
How does the Kona’s light bar shape the front coverage?
It draws a lamp line right across the nose, so where the film stops on the hood is worth deciding first. Hyundai Canada lists “LED Daytime Running Lights (Full-Line LED type)” on its 2027 Kona specifications, and the Kona overview describes a refreshed headlight and taillight design with a new grille for 2027.
A Partial Front stops partway back on the hood and fenders, so its edge crosses those panels somewhere behind the nose. Full Front covers the hood and both fenders out to their edges, so no film line runs across the middle of the hood. On a car whose face is one long horizontal lamp, plenty of owners prefer that uninterrupted look, and the partial vs full front comparison weighs the cost against it. Because of the 2027 changes, an earlier Kona’s front-end pattern differs, so include the model year when you ask.
What changes between the Kona, the N Line and the Kona Electric?
The front bumper and grille, and the trim around the wheels. Each version has its own pattern, so the panel list and the price can shift.
| Version (2027) | Front end, per Hyundai Canada | Other differences |
|---|---|---|
| Kona | Refreshed grille and headlights | Premium dark grey or body-colour cladding |
| Kona N Line | “N Line-exclusive front bumper fascia & grille” | Rear bumper with diffuser, N Line emblems |
| Kona Electric | Closed grille | Body-coloured wheel arch cladding, heated charge port door |
The Kona Electric page calls the closed grille an electric-vehicle signature that also helps aerodynamics. Ask whether that closed panel is included with the bumper piece on your Electric, since it’s a different surface from an open grille. Other EV considerations are on the electric vehicle PPF page.
Is the Kona’s body cladding worth covering?
The body-colour cladding is worth a look; the dark grey cladding isn’t paint at all. Hyundai lists both “Premium dark gray body cladding” and “Body colored body cladding”, and on the Electric the wheel arch cladding is body-coloured as standard.
Painted cladding around the arches sits in the spray thrown up by the front tires, which is where gravel and winter abrasive tend to land. The front packages end at the fenders, so arch and lower-door cladding is covered in Full Vehicle or priced as added pieces. Hyundai also lists a two-tone body colour option without saying on the spec page which panels carry the second colour, so mention it if your Kona has one: the Track Package reaches only the leading edge of the roof, while Full Vehicle covers every painted panel.
What should you send for a Kona PPF quote?
The year, the version and the trim, plus a photo of the front if there are chips already. The reply prices the package for your car and suggests any extra pieces. The Full Front page shows what the larger front package includes, panel by panel.
The Kona’s rear glass can be tinted during the same booking; prices are on the Kona window tint page. The PPF request form is the quickest route; Kona owners can also phone 604 534 6433.
