What does Sierra HD window tint cost?
From $240 for the rear glass of a Double or Crew Cab in LLumar ATC. That’s the shop’s pickup package: the rear door windows and the back glass, which on many Sierra HDs is a power slider. A Regular Cab has no rear doors, so its back window is priced on its own.
| Sierra HD tint job | Glass | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear package, Double or Crew Cab | Rear door windows, back glass or power slider | $240 |
| Same glass in IRX or AIR ceramic | As above | Quoted per package |
| Regular Cab back window | Back glass only | Quoted per truck |
| Power sunroof | Roof glass, where fitted | Quoted per truck |
| Front door windows | Driver and front passenger | $160, not road-legal in BC |
The price covers genuine LLumar film cut on a computerized plotter for your truck’s year and cab, fitted by hand, and warranted for life on both the material and the work. The truck window tint page compares the package across pickups, and every figure is on the window tint price list.
Which glass does each Sierra HD trim come with?
It depends on the trim more than on the cab. GMC Canada’s 2026 Sierra 2500HD trim comparison lays it out:
| 2026 Sierra 2500HD | Rear glass | Power sliding rear window | Head-Up Display | Power sunroof |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | Solar-absorbing; deep-tinted available | Not offered | Not offered | Not offered |
| SLE | Deep-tinted | Available | Not offered | Not offered |
| SLT | Deep-tinted | Available | Not offered | Available |
| AT4 | Deep-tinted | Available | Available | Available |
| AT4X | Deep-tinted | Standard | Standard | Standard |
| Denali | Deep-tinted | Standard | Available | Available |
| Denali Ultimate | Deep-tinted | Standard | Standard | Standard |
GMC Canada’s Pro, SLE and SLT page adds the cabs: Regular Cab on the Pro and SLE with an 8-foot bed, plus Double Cab and Crew Cab. The AT4, AT4X and Denalis are Crew Cabs. GMC also lists the 2027 Sierra HD, expected late in 2026, so mention the model year.
How dark is GM’s deep-tinted glass?
GM has put a number on it. Its service bulletin 21-NA-152, covering GM cars and trucks of 2022 and earlier, says rear doors, quarter windows and back windows use either solar glass at 70% or more, or privacy glass with a light transmittance of “(nominally) 20%”. The privacy option it names is RPO AKO, the same code GMC uses for the Sierra HD’s deep-tinted glass.
Film stacks on top of that figure: put a 20% film over it and roughly 4% of the light reaches the cab. On an SLE or higher, even a light shade darkens things noticeably. The same bulletin says privacy glass cuts UV to 10% or less and solar glass to 35% or less; LLumar’s performance data lists every ATC, IRX and AIR film at over 99% UV blocked. For a truck newer than 2022, ask the shop to check the glass, since the bulletin’s figures stop there. How dark factory privacy glass is explains the variation.
Can film go on a Sierra HD’s power sliding rear window?
Yes. The slider and the fixed panes beside it each get their own piece, and the heated grid that GMC calls the rear defogger keeps working under the film. Its switch stays in the overhead console and works as before.
If you’re tinting a used truck from the previous generation, check one thing first. Transport Canada recall 2019-325 covers 2015 to 2019 Sierra HDs with a power slider, whose rear defroster circuit “could overheat”; the dealer replaces covers for the bus bar and contacts. A follow-up, recall 2024-294, calls some of those trucks back for a second repair. Get that done before film goes on. Any old film on that glass is steamed off, not scraped, which keeps the grid intact.
What does BC law allow on a Sierra HD?
Any shade on the rear door windows and the back glass. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on the side windows behind the driver, and on rear glass of any vehicle with mirrors outside on the left and right; every Sierra HD qualifies, trailering mirrors included. The two front door windows can’t take film at all, and the windshield only within its top 75 mm.
On the AT4X and Denali Ultimate that windshield also carries a standard 15-inch Head-Up Display, projected low in the driver’s view. The shop fits front-door film for $160 on request, after explaining the usual $109 ticket and the chance of an order to remove it. The rest of the rule is in front window tint in BC.
How do you book Sierra HD tint in Langley?
Send the year, trim and cab, whether the back glass is a power slider, whether there’s a sunroof, and the film you have in mind. You’ll hear back with the rear figure, the ceramic step-up and a roof price if needed.
Most trucks leave the same day. Then the film needs three to five days with the side windows and slider up; any haze in week one is moisture drying out. Book through the Sierra HD tint quote form or text 604 534 6433. To protect the hood and bumpers as well, see Sierra HD paint protection film.
