Volkswagen Tiguan Window Tint in Langley, BC

At a glance

Volkswagen Tiguan window tint at Brookswood Tint starts at $260 for the rear door windows, quarter glass and tailgate window in LLumar ATC, with a lifetime warranty; IRX or AIR ceramic is quoted per package. On the 2026 Tiguan, VW Canada lists dark tinted second-row and cargo glass from the Comfortline up, so a Trendline starts from lighter glass than the rest of the range.

How much does Tiguan window tint cost?

From $260 in LLumar ATC for the glass behind the front seats. On a Tiguan that’s the rear door windows, the quarter glass behind them and the tailgate window, all plotter-cut to your model year’s pattern.

Tiguan glass Windows From
SUV rear package Rear doors, quarter glass, tailgate $260
Same package in IRX or AIR ceramic Same windows Quoted per package
Panoramic sunroof Roof glass, where fitted Quoted per vehicle
Driver and passenger windows 2 $140, not legal on BC roads
Windshield, full, inside 1 $200, not road-legal in BC

Film and fitting carry a lifetime warranty. When the roof or ceramic goes in the same booking, ask for one total, as a combined job typically costs less than the list prices summed. Each package is laid out on the window tint prices page.

Which Tiguan trims leave the factory with dark rear glass?

Every 2026 trim except the Trendline. VW Canada’s 2026 Tiguan Buyer’s Guide adds “Dark tinted glass (2nd row/trunk)” at the Comfortline, and the trims above it carry that equipment forward.

2026 Tiguan Dark tinted 2nd row and cargo glass Glass roof Window surrounds
Trendline 4MOTION Not listed Not listed Chrome
Comfortline 4MOTION Yes Panoramic sunroof package Carried from Trendline
Comfortline R-Line Black Edition Yes Panoramic power sunroof, standard Black
Highline Turbo R-Line 4MOTION Yes Not listed separately Chrome

So the same film number gives two different results across the range. On a Trendline the film does the darkening on its own. From the Comfortline up it stacks on glass VW has already tinted, and the finished window comes out darker than the label. More on stacking film over factory shade is in tinting over factory tint.

Picking a film for the Tiguan’s rear seats and cargo area

On a Trendline, choose the shade you want to see: 35% for a mid tone, 15% or 5% for dark. On the other trims, go a step lighter than your first instinct, or use near-clear AIR 80 if the factory shade already suits you and heat is the real problem.

Film and factory glass multiply, so 20% film on glass passing 20% of the light ends near 4%. VW doesn’t publish a transmission figure for the Tiguan’s dark glass. On LLumar’s spec sheet, ATC rejects 28–44% of total solar energy, IRX 50–62%, and AIR 80 rejects 60% of IR energy (IRER) while passing 77% of visible light. Every one of them blocks more than 99% of UV, which counts for children in the second row on long summer drives.

Is the Tiguan’s panoramic sunroof worth tinting?

If yours has one and the cabin bakes under it, yes; it’s priced on its own. The glass sits right over the front and rear seats, and film on its inside face cuts the heat and glare that come through it.

Roof glass varies with the build, so the quote is made for your Tiguan rather than read off the trim name. Owners of an older Tiguan should also know about Transport Canada recall 2018-374: on 2018 Tiguans, 17,829 vehicles in Canada, the LED modules for the panoramic sunroof’s ambient light bar could overheat, and dealers fitted in-line fuses. It doesn’t involve the glass, but it’s worth confirming it was done before any work up there. The sunroof and panoramic roof page explains how roof film is fitted.

Tiguan windshields, the head-up display and BC’s tint law

The windshield stays clear apart from an optional strip in the top 75 mm, and the front door windows stay clear entirely. That’s MVAR s. 7.05(8): film is allowed behind the driver, on the rear window of a vehicle with mirrors on both sides, and in that top strip.

The 2026 Tiguan gives you extra reasons to leave the windshield alone. Every trim has rain-sensing wipers and Light Assist automatic high beams, and the Highline Turbo R-Line projects a head-up display onto the glass. Film on the two front doors draws a ticket of typically $109 and fails item 13d at inspection; the shop installs it only on request, after explaining that. Next step: a Tiguan tint quote

Tell the shop the model year, the trim and whether there’s a panoramic roof, and name the film you’re weighing up. Most Tiguans are finished the same day. Use the Tiguan window tint quote form, and if you’re also protecting the front end, see PPF for the Volkswagen Tiguan.

Questions about VW Tiguan window tint

01Can a Trendline Tiguan be made to look like a Comfortline from behind?

Close to it. VW Canada doesn't list dark tinted rear glass on the 2026 Trendline, so a mid or dark film on its rear windows can bring the look near the upper trims. Compare both cars in daylight before you choose.

02Is the Tiguan's tailgate glass included in the $260?

Yes. The SUV rear package includes the hatch glass along with the rear door windows and quarter glass.

03Will film interfere with the Tiguan's rear defroster?

No. Film goes on the inside of the tailgate glass over the defroster lines, and if it ever needs replacing, the shop takes it off with steam so the grid survives.

04How long does a Tiguan take?

Two to four hours is typical for a full tint on an SUV this size, so it's usually a same-day job. The windows then stay up for three to five days while the film cures.
