Can you ceramic coat an Aston Martin, and how is it priced?
Yes, in any of the shop’s three graphene-ceramic packages, and every Aston Martin is quoted on its own because coating prices aren’t published. The quote depends on the package, the paint finish, how much correction it needs and how much of the car is already under film.
| Package | Layers | Preparation | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | Decontamination, clay, at least one stage of polish | Daily drivers and lease returns, per the shop |
| Performance | 2 | Two-stage correction | Cars washed by hand and kept a while |
| Signature | 4 | Full correction | New exotics and full-PPF cars, per the shop |
Paint depth is measured before any polisher comes near it. The Aston is usually in the bay one to three days, and the coating then wants 24 hours without water. Graphene vs ceramic coating explains the chemistry.
Which Aston Martin paint palettes change the coating plan?
The satin ones. Aston Martin’s model pages list the palettes, and a Satin option appears on the DB12, the DBX707 and the Vanquish:
| Model | Paint palettes, per Aston Martin |
|---|---|
| DB12 | Solid, Metallic, Signature Metallic, Racing Line, Satin, Special, Heritage |
| DBX707 | Solid standard; Metallic, Premium Metallic, Racing Line, Q Satin, Q Special, Q Heritage, Q Out of Range |
| Vanquish | Signature Metallic, Racing Line, Provenance, Icon, Q – Satin, Q – Special, Q – Ultra |
Gloss and metallic paint follows the normal route: decontaminate, correct to the package’s level, then coat. Satin paint doesn’t, because polishing changes its sheen for good. On a satin Aston Martin the paint is cleaned but not machine-polished, and the product is a coating formulated for low-sheen paint; the matte paint coating page sets out why.
The Q palettes (Special, Heritage, Ultra and, on the DBX707, Out of Range) are special-order paints, so their names won’t help much on their own. Send the exact paint name from the car’s build sheet, plus a photo in daylight, and the shop will say whether the finish is corrected and coated as gloss or handled like satin.
What about carbon fibre, chrome strakes and gloss black trim?
They’re part of the quote, and the Signature package is the one the shop lists as covering trim. The Vanquish has a “Full carbon fibre body, including inset bonnet, door outers and bodysides”, and its optional upper body pack comes in gloss black, gloss 2x2 twill carbon or satin 2x2 twill carbon. The DB12 and DBX707 offer gloss carbon packs as well.
Bright trim varies by model. The Vantage and Vanquish carry “Bright Chrome side strakes”, while the DBX707 has dark chrome bonnet blades, side strakes and window finishers, plus high-gloss black sills. Including that trim means the whole car washes the same way, not just the painted panels.
Should an Aston Martin get PPF first, then a coating?
If it’s getting both, yes: film first, coating over the top. A coating adds gloss, water beading and easier washing, but it’s far too thin to stop a stone chip, which is the film’s job. Coating over the film means paint and film behave the same in the rain and wash the same way. The coating over PPF page explains the order, and Aston Martin PPF covers the film packages and prices.
Booking an Aston Martin coating in Langley
Send the model, year and exact paint name, note any carbon packs or Q options, and say whether the car is already under film. The shop replies with the package it recommends and a price once it has seen the paint. Plan for one to three days and a dry first day after pickup. From then on, look after the coating with a two-bucket wash and pH-neutral soap, or a touchless wash; brush washes will mar any finish in time, coated or not. Request a quote through the Aston Martin coating form or call 604 534 6433.
