Aston Martin PPF in Langley, BC

At a glance

Brookswood Tint fits LLumar Platinum paint protection film to Aston Martins, from a Partial Front at $850 to Full Vehicle coverage from $4,000, with each car quoted on its own panels. The current range gives film plenty to do: large grilles, low splitters, wide sills, and Satin paint palettes that call for Platinum Matte rather than gloss film. Full-body work keeps the car three to five days.

What does PPF cost on an Aston Martin?

On an Aston Martin, $850 is where a Partial Front begins and $4,000 where whole-car coverage begins; a Full Front sits from $1,550, and adding pillars, roof edge and sills (the Track Package) from $1,900. On an Aston Martin those are floors, not quotes: the panels are large and shaped, and each model is priced from its own pattern.

Package Coverage From
Partial Front Full bumper, partial bonnet and wings, headlights, mirrors $850
Full Front Whole bonnet and front wings, bumper, headlights, mirrors $1,550
Track Package Full Front, windscreen pillars, leading edge of the roof, sills $1,900
Full Vehicle Every painted surface and the headlights $4,000

The film is LLumar Platinum, which repairs fine scratches with heat. Its 10-year limited warranty comes from LLumar; under the shop’s terms it covers the film yellowing, cracking, bubbling or peeling. Every piece comes off a software pattern, edges tuck around the panel wherever its shape permits, and if a bumper can only be done with a relief cut, you’re shown where it will go first.

Where does an Aston Martin take stone chips?

Low and at the front, where the current cars put their biggest openings and their splitters. Aston Martin’s own model pages describe front ends built around airflow, and the painted surfaces around those openings are the ones film protects.

Model Front end, per Aston Martin Sides and arches
Vantage Grille with 38% more surface area, new front splitter Track 30 mm wider, wheel arch vents
DB12 Vaned grille with 56% more open area, body-coloured splitter Body-coloured side sills
Vanquish Wide bumper with integrated splitter Carbon fibre bodysides, sculpted strake panel
DBX707 Clamshell bonnet, gloss black front splitter Gloss black sills, front wheel arch winglets

A body-coloured splitter and sills, as on the DB12, put paint in the lowest spots on the car, where grit from the road and the front tires arrives first. A Full Front stops at the wings; the Track Package adds the sills and windscreen pillars, and Full Vehicle covers everything else.

Gloss or matte film for Satin and Q Satin paint?

Matte, if the paint is satin. Aston Martin lists a Satin palette for the DB12, “Q Satin” for the DBX707 and “Q – Satin” for the Vanquish. Gloss film over those finishes would add shine to every panel it covers; Platinum Matte keeps the sheen low, and on gloss paint it does the opposite, turning the car satin.

Satin paint also can’t be polished back to its original look once it’s scuffed, so film arguably matters more on it than on gloss. PPF on matte paint covers preparation and care for flat finishes in detail.

How do carbon fibre, sensors and a clamshell bonnet affect the film plan?

Each changes the pattern rather than the price list, so each is settled at the quote. Aston Martin describes the Vanquish body as carbon fibre throughout, bonnet, door skins and bodysides included, and the DB12, Vanquish and DBX707 all offer gloss carbon fibre exterior packs. Painted carbon panels are covered as paint; exposed carbon is a separate decision.

The Vantage, Vanquish and DBX707 list front and rear parking sensors as standard, so their bumper pieces are laid out around the sensor positions. The DBX707’s clamshell bonnet runs out toward the wings, so the edge of a partial-bonnet piece sits differently than on a conventional bonnet; ask to see where it would fall. The exotic car PPF page covers vents, wings and sharp bodywork more generally.

Booking an Aston Martin for film in Langley

Send the model, year and paint name, and say whether any carbon packs or Q options were specified. Before any film, fallout is stripped from the paint and any defects worth fixing are corrected. An Aston is with the shop for one day at the Partial Front level, up to two for a whole bonnet and wings or the Track Package, and as long as five days for full-body film. A coating can go over the film afterwards, as the Aston Martin ceramic coating page explains. Ask for an Aston Martin price on the film request form, or call 604 534 6433.

Questions about aston Martin PPF

01Has the shop filmed an Aston Martin?

None appears in the shop's photo library. The closest work there is a satin-finished Porsche 911 GT3 RS in full PPF, a car with deep vents, a splitter and a low-sheen surface. It's in the shop's gallery.

02Can film go on exposed gloss carbon fibre?

Gloss carbon is a finished surface, and whether to film it is a choice to make at the quote. Tell the shop which carbon packs your car has, since Aston Martin offers them in gloss and, on the Vanquish, satin.

03Does PPF change the look of an Aston Martin's paint?

Gloss film over gloss paint is hard to spot once it's on. Matte film turns gloss paint satin, so it suits a car that's already satin or an owner who wants that look.

04Should a new Aston Martin be filmed before it's driven much?

Yes, if you can. Film guards the paint from the moment it's applied, but any chip already there stays under it; the paint is checked and decontaminated first in any case.
