How is ceramic coating priced on an F-150?
By the truck in front of the shop. With no coating prices published, an F-150’s quote rests on three things: which package, the amount of polishing its paint calls for, and its size, which ranges from a short-box Regular Cab to a long-box SuperCrew.
| Package | Layers | Paint prep | What the shop lists it covering |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | Decontamination and at least one stage of polish | Paint |
| Performance | 2 | Two-stage correction | Paint, wheel faces, glass |
| Signature | 4 | Full correction | Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim |
Every package starts with a wash, decontamination and machine polishing, and paint thickness is measured before any correction. Allow one to three days for the work, and don’t let the truck get wet for a day once you’ve collected it. Full package details are on the ceramic coating service page.
What 2026 F-150 paint will the coating sit on?
Any of eleven colours in Canada, and four of them are extra-cost finishes. Ford’s 2026 trim pages list:
| Colour | Ford’s note |
|---|---|
| Agate Black Metallic, Antimatter Blue Metallic, Argon Blue Metallic, Carbonized Grey Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic | Metallic |
| Oxford White, Avalanche | No extra charge listed |
| Star White Metallic Tri-coat | Extra cost |
| Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat | Extra cost |
| Marsh Grey | Extra cost; also the lower accent colour of the King Ranch two-tone |
| Shelter Green Metallic | Extra cost, listed for the Raptor |
Not every colour is offered on every trim. Dark colours like Agate Black and Antimatter Blue show swirl marks most clearly, and a coating seals in the finish it is applied over, which is why the correction in Performance and Signature matters on those trucks. Coating a black car goes through what to expect.
What about the chrome, gloss black and satin trim?
An F-150 can carry several finishes that aren’t paint, and they change with the trim. Ford’s 2026 pages list, among others:
- Lariat: chrome two-bar grille and surround, chrome bumpers, chrome mirror caps and chrome door handles.
- King Ranch: chrome grille surround with bronze accents and 20-inch chrome-like PVD wheels.
- Platinum: gloss black grille surround and accents, a hood with gloss black inserts, and optional satin aluminum door handles. The Platinum Satin Appearance Package adds brushed silver exterior accents.
- Tremor: 18-inch wheels with a dark matte finish.
Signature is the package the shop lists as covering trim. Wheels can be coated as an add-on or within the higher packages; wheel coating explains what that involves. Point out any matte or satin pieces when you book so the shop can plan for them.
Will a coating stop rock chips on an F-150?
No. A ceramic coating is a thin, hard layer that helps with gloss, water and grime, not with stones. For chips on the hood and bumper, the answer is film: see PPF for the Ford F-150. The two work together, with the coating on top of the film.
Where the coating does help is winter. TranBC lists salt, brine, anti-icing liquids and abrasives among what its maintenance contractors put down, and grime lets go of a coated surface more readily under a hose than it does from bare clear coat. The truck still needs rinsing.
What should you send to book an F-150 coating?
Send the year, trim, cab, box length and colour, add some daylight photos of the paintwork, and name the package you’re curious about. The shop measures and inspects the paint at drop-off, confirms the correction stage and the price, and gives you a pickup day. Use the F-150 ceramic coating quote form. If the chrome is going black too, ask about booking the F-150 chrome delete in the same visit.
