How is a Rolls-Royce ceramic coating quoted?
Car by car, from the paint’s condition, its finishes and the package. The shop doesn’t publish coating prices.
| Package | Layers | Before the coating |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | One | Paint prepared |
| Performance | Two | Two-stage correction |
| Signature | Four | Full correction |
Plan on one to three days, much of it correction and curing time, then 24 hours of keeping the car dry. Paint thickness is measured before any polishing starts.
Which Rolls-Royce finishes need their own plan?
Anything that isn’t plain gloss paint over a single colour, and recent Rolls-Royce models offer a lot of it:
| Finish | Where Rolls-Royce describes it |
|---|---|
| Gradient Two-Tone: colour that shifts along the car’s length over a black base, in four colourways | Spectre Series II; up to four days of painting per car |
| The marque’s signature horizontal two-tone divide | Referred to in the same Spectre Series II release |
| Bespoke “Crystal Over”: a lacquer infused with glass particles for a subtle shimmer | Offered with Emperador Truffle, a solid grey-brown, on Cullinan Series II |
| Iced Black Exterior Detailing: matte brightwork | Black Badge Spectre Series II |
| Darkened chrome grille surround, black bonnet reins, windscreen surround and side frame finishers | Available to commission on Phantom Series II |
Give the shop the paint names from the build sheet, since a two-tone or gradient car carries more than one colour under the coating.
How are matte Black Badge details treated?
Without polishing. Rolls-Royce says Iced Black Exterior Detailing gives a matte finish to the grille surround, sideframe finishers, bumper inserts, the “Double R” side surround, the door handles and the Spirit of Ecstasy, while the Pantheon grille’s vanes stay polished.
Matte surfaces lose their look if they’re machine-polished, so they’re left out of the correction and take a coating made for flat finishes. The same applies to a Black Badge wheel in Iced Matte Black, which Rolls-Royce says is cured at high temperature. The matte paint coating page sets out the method and the washing that follows.
What about polished stainless steel and wheels?
They’re planned separately from the paint, and Rolls-Royce uses a lot of polished metal: the Cullinan Series II’s exhaust surrounds are mirror-finish stainless steel, the Spirit of Ecstasy is cast stainless steel given a final mirror polish, and the Spectre Series II’s 23-inch forged wheel is hand-finished for up to six hours in part- or fully polished form.
The Ghost Series II offers two 22-inch, 9-spoke wheels, one fully and one part-polished, and the Phantom a disc wheel in polished stainless steel or black lacquer. Wheels can be coated as their own item; the wheel coating page explains how.
Booking a Rolls-Royce coating in Langley
Send the model, series and year, the paint names, and whether it’s a Black Badge car or has Crystal Over or two-tone paint. Mention any film already fitted. The shop quotes a package from that and books one to three days. For chip protection under the coating, Rolls-Royce PPF explains the packages. Call 604 534 6433, or send the details through the coating quote form.
