Which Sierra 1500 trims carry the most chrome?
The SLT and the two Denalis. GMC Canada’s 2026 Sierra lineup lists bright trim on those, while the Elevation leaves the factory without it.
| 2026 Sierra 1500 trim | Bright or dark trim GMC Canada lists |
|---|---|
| Elevation | Monochromatic exterior with gloss-black mesh inserts in the grille |
| SLT | Chrome grille, door handles and front and rear bumpers; chrome wheel-to-wheel assist steps available |
| Denali | Signature Denali grille with chrome header; chrome wheel-to-wheel assist steps |
| Denali Ultimate | Signature Denali “Vader Chrome” grille; 22-inch wheels with Bright Chrome accents |
The 2027 next-generation truck reshuffles this. On GMC’s 2027 page, the Pro gets a chrome header and grille insert bars, the Elevation and AT4 a high-gloss black header and bars, the Denali chrome header and insert bars, and the Denali Ultimate a shadow header with matching bars. The same trim name can carry different chrome from one year to the next, so a photo of your truck settles what’s there.
What does a Sierra chrome delete cover?
Whatever is bright on your truck, grouped into the shop’s three levels. Each piece is wrapped separately in black vinyl, and the paint around it isn’t touched.
| Level | Typical Sierra pieces |
|---|---|
| Window trim | Any bright surrounds or belt-line strips around the side glass |
| Front and rear | Grille header and bars, GMC and trim badges, bright bumper trim |
| Full blackout | Adds door handles, mirror caps and any remaining bright work, such as assist steps |
The big pieces on a Sierra are the grille and, on an SLT, the chrome bumpers. A full chrome bumper is far more vinyl and hand work than a strip of bumper trim, so it’s priced from the truck. The shop says a truck grille with many bars takes more labour than a full set of window trim, and that grille blackouts are the truck request it gets most. The grille chrome delete page covers that job on its own.
Does the 2022 Sierra grille deflector recall affect a chrome delete?
It can, so check before booking. NHTSA, the US safety regulator, lists recall 25V060000 for an estimated 70,768 2022 Sierra 1500s fitted with chrome front grille deflectors, whose attachments “may fracture, resulting in grille detachment”.
GM’s remedy is for dealers to reinforce or repair every attachment point on the deflector at no charge, and owner letters went out in March 2025. If your truck is a 2022 with those deflectors, have the dealer complete the recall before the grille is wrapped, so the repair happens on bare parts rather than freshly wrapped ones. A GMC dealer can check your VIN to see whether your truck is included.
Should a Sierra go gloss black or satin black?
Gloss suits a Sierra whose factory dark trim is already shiny, and satin suits one with plenty of textured black plastic. GMC’s own blacked-out looks lean glossy: the 2027 Elevation and AT4 use high-gloss black for the header and grille bars, and the 2026 Elevation uses gloss-black mesh.
A satin finish shows fingerprints less, which matters on door handles that get grabbed every day. Either way, you see both samples held up against your own Sierra before any vinyl is cut. Because it’s vinyl, the choice isn’t permanent: a chrome delete is reversible, and the original chrome is there when the vinyl comes off.
How do you get a Sierra 1500 chrome delete quoted?
Chrome delete has no published price, so each Sierra is quoted from its trim and the pieces you want done. Include the model year, the trim, a front and a rear photo, your finish, and any pieces that should stay bright.
Both vinyl brands, 3M and Avery Dennison, come with a manufacturer warranty of 5 years under the shop’s published terms. Smoked taillight film is a common partner to a blackout, by the shop’s account, but lamp film can fail a BC inspection, so weigh that before adding it. Details go in the chrome delete quote form; texting 604 534 6433 also works, and the chrome delete cost page explains what moves the price.
