Which bright trim does a current Range Rover carry?
Six pieces, and Land Rover names every one. For the current model year, its Range Rover options page lists the same set in each exterior package: hood lettering, grille details, door gill surround, tow eye cover, tailgate lower finisher and rear fender ingot. Only the finish changes.
| Trim piece | SE: Nickel Atlas package | Autobiography package | Shadow package |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hood lettering | Atlas | Atlas | Gloss Graphite Atlas |
| Grille details | Nickel Atlas | Atlas and Satin Atlas | Gloss Graphite Atlas |
| Door gill surround | Nickel Atlas | Atlas | Gloss Graphite Atlas |
| Tow eye cover | Atlas | Atlas | Gloss Graphite Atlas |
| Tailgate lower finisher | Nickel Atlas | Atlas | Gloss Graphite Atlas |
| Rear fender ingot | Nickel Atlas | Atlas | Gloss Graphite Atlas |
The Nickel Atlas package is standard on the SE and the Autobiography package on the Autobiography. Atlas is Land Rover’s name for these trim finishes, so on this model a “chrome” delete really means darkening Atlas pieces. The approach for each part type is set out on the grille blackout page.
Can vinyl stand in for the Range Rover’s Shadow Exterior Package?
Same pieces, different timing. The Shadow package gives all six a Gloss Graphite Atlas finish when the Range Rover is ordered, and Land Rover notes it “is not available on SV models.” Vinyl reaches a darker look after purchase, on any trim.
Vinyl also offers a choice the factory option doesn’t: gloss black for a near-paint look, or satin black for a softer one. Because cast vinyl comes off with heat, the original Atlas finish survives for resale or lease return, which is the subject of whether a chrome delete is reversible.
What’s different on a Range Rover SV or SV Black?
The trim changes, and there’s less of it to darken. Land Rover’s Range Rover SV page describes an exclusive front grille and bumper, “contrasting Range Rover script lettering” and a unique SV ceramic roundel.
SV Black goes further: Land Rover Canada’s specifications list an SV Gloss Black Exterior Package as standard. On an SV, where the Shadow package can’t be ordered, vinyl is the aftermarket route to a darker grille or script. Send photos and the quote covers just what’s still bright; whether the ceramic roundel is covered or left alone is a question to settle with the shop.
Which parts of a Range Rover are left uncovered?
Cameras, sensors and lamps. Land Rover’s 3D Surround Camera builds a 360° view from lenses around the body, and none of those can sit under film.
The shop checks your Range Rover’s front and rear before quoting and leaves any trim that houses or borders a lens as it is. Light units aren’t part of a chrome delete; tinting lamps is its own service, and BC inspections can reject covered lenses.
How do I book a Range Rover chrome delete?
Send the year, trim and any exterior package, with close photos of each bright piece: hood script, grille, gill surrounds, tailgate finisher and fender ingots. Say whether you want gloss or satin black.
The quote names every piece the vinyl will cover and anything it won’t. Under the shop’s published terms the vinyl is warranted for 5 years. Request it with the chrome delete quote form or on 604 534 6433. If you want the darker trim to sit against a new body colour, plan it with a Range Rover wrap.
