What does tint cost on a Range Rover?
A Range Rover falls in the full-size SUV class, so the panes behind the front seats start at $260 in LLumar ATC, a colour-stable dyed film. Choosing IRX or AIR ceramic for those panes adds a cost priced per package.
| Range Rover glass | What it takes in | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear package | Rear door windows, the small fixed panes next to them, any side glass further back, the tailgate window | $260 |
| Ceramic instead of ATC | IRX or AIR on those same panes | Priced per package |
| Sliding panoramic roof | The glass over the cabin | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front door pair | The two windows beside the front seats | $160 if requested; illegal on BC roads |
| Whole windshield | Film on the inner surface | $200; BC permits a 75 mm top strip only |
The plotter cuts every piece to the Range Rover’s own outline, so no knife works on the glass, the rubber seals or the door cards. Each sheet is heat-formed to its curve and squeegeed into place by hand. LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty applies to the film, and the shop’s own lifetime promise applies to the installation. A whole-vehicle booking is normally priced below the sum of its packages; every package appears in the full tint price table.
Which windows sit behind the driver on a current Range Rover?
More panes than the profile suggests. On the generation sold from the 2022 model year, each rear door has a fixed quarter pane next to the window that drops, separated by a glass guide channel, according to Land Rover technical bulletin JLRTB02124NAS.
That bulletin also describes an electric rear door window blind on the Range Rover, so the back seats already have a sunshade for each door. Film does a different job: it stays in place, trims heat and blocks over 99% of UV whether the blind is up or down. Mention the blinds when you book, because the film goes on that same inner face of the glass.
Land Rover sells the vehicle in three body styles: Standard Wheelbase, Long Wheelbase and Long Wheelbase seven-seat. Patterns are matched to the body in front of the shop. Overhead, the sliding panoramic roof is standard; roof glass pricing is set out on the panoramic roof tint page.
Will rear film change the driver’s view out the back?
That depends on the mirror mode. Land Rover’s ClearSight interior rear-view mirror, standard from the Autobiography up, “displays a live video feed of the road behind you”, so in that mode you see a camera image rather than a reflection through the tailgate window.
Switch it back to an ordinary mirror and the film on the back glass becomes part of the view. If you lean on the plain mirror after dark, a lighter shade keeps more of it.
Land Rover’s Canadian pages give no darkness figure for the factory rear glass. Aftermarket film stacks on top of any darkening already in the glass: two layers at 20% each leave about 4%. Try a sample against your own windows first, or read up on how dark factory privacy glass gets.
Heat is the other half of the choice. In LLumar’s performance data, the IRX shades reject between half and 62% of total solar energy, while the ATC shades sit at 28–44%.
How does BC’s tint law apply to a Range Rover?
Every window behind the driver, including the small rear door panes and the tailgate glass, may carry film at any darkness. The front door windows may carry none, and the windshield only in a band reaching 75 mm down from its top.
Under MVAR s. 7.05(8), back glass may be filmed only if there’s an exterior mirror on each side, and a Range Rover has one on each front door. Those mirrors have rules of their own: Transport Canada recall 2023-037 replaced the driver’s mirror glass on 19 Range Rovers from the 2023 model year after convex glass was fitted where Canada requires flat.
On request the shop does film the front pair for $160 or the whole windshield for $200, after explaining that neither is legal on BC roads. The usual ticket for it is $109, and an officer may also write up a Notice & Order that demands removal and an inspection. The rest is laid out in what front-window film means in BC.
How do I get a Range Rover tint quote?
Send the model year, body style, trim level and preferred film, plus a yes or no on the roof glass. The reply lists the rear package, what ceramic would add, and the roof as its own line.
Expect two to four hours for a full-size SUV, which usually means same-day pickup. Don’t lower the side glass for three to five days; the adhesive takes that long to grip, and light cloudiness, even tiny water blisters, during week one dries out by itself. Use the Range Rover tint quote form; the shop also answers 604 534 6433 by call or text. Paint protection can share the visit through Range Rover PPF.
