Where does a Ram 2500 carry chrome, trim by trim?
Mostly on the grille, the bumpers and the trim strip across the front, and the amount depends on the trim and its option groups. Two Ram sources spell it out, the 2027 Canadian feature list and Ram Canada’s 2026 Ram 2500 page:
| Ram 2500 trim or group | Bright pieces Ram lists |
|---|---|
| Tradesman Chrome Appearance Group or Level 2 group, 2027 | Chrome front and rear bumpers, chrome upper header and lower applique, Tradesman grille with chrome nostrils, chrome-clad steel wheels |
| Big Horn, 2026 | Chrome-surround grille with black insert, chrome bumpers, chrome headlamp bezels |
| Big Horn equipment groups, 2027 | Chrome Big Horn badge |
| Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited, 2027 | Bright front and rear bumpers with the optional Chrome Bumper Package |
| Black Express, 2026 | Body-colour bumpers and grille surround |
| Power Wagon, 2027 | Black powder-coated bumpers |
Ram uses the grille to set its trims apart. The 2019 Heavy Duty launch kit counted six grille styles across the lineup when the current truck arrived. Photos of the front, both sides and the rear show the shop exactly which of them is on yours.
What do the Night Edition and Sport Appearance packages already black out?
A good share of it, from the factory. On the 2027 Canadian list, the Night Edition Package is offered on the Big Horn, Laramie and Limited and brings:
- body-colour front and rear bumpers
- black badging
- a black grille and surround
- body-colour door handles and mirror caps
- dark headlight bezels
- black wheels
The Sport Appearance Group, offered on the Big Horn and Laramie, paints the bumpers, door handles, upper header and lower applique in body colour instead. Vinyl gets a truck built without either package close to that look on the pieces it can cover. The dark headlight bezels come with the factory package. Whether the chrome bezels on your truck can be covered depends on how they sit in the lamp, so point them out when you ask.
Can the grille and badges on a 2500 go black?
Yes. The grille is usually the centrepiece of the job, and badges are wrapped one at a time.
- Grille surround. On a Big Horn the surround is chrome around a black insert, so wrapping the surround alone already changes the face of the truck. The grille blackout page covers how grilles are quoted.
- Fender badge. The 2027 Canadian press kit gives heavy-duty trucks with the 6.4-litre HEMI a Symbol of Protest fender badge, in Satin Black on the Tradesman, Black Express, Warlock, Rebel, Power Wagon and Night Edition trucks. On the other HEMI trims it’s one more badge to wrap.
- Model badges. The chrome Big Horn badge comes off for wrapping if it can be removed cleanly, so the vinyl covers the whole piece, and it goes back on with the right clips.
How long does vinyl last on heavy-duty truck trim?
The shop puts cast vinyl on trim at five years and up with reasonable care, and the vinyl carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty, which is the shop’s published term. Pieces that get knocked or scraped, bumper corners especially, show wear sooner.
It isn’t permanent either. Warm the vinyl and it peels away, leaving the original chrome underneath, which suits a truck you might trade in. Whether a chrome delete is reversible explains how removal works.
How do you get a Ram 2500 chrome delete quoted?
Chrome delete has no published price. Send the year, cab, trim and any packages, photos of the front, sides and rear, your choice of gloss or satin, and any pieces you’d rather keep bright via the quote form for chrome delete, or text 604 534 6433.
Gloss black matches a truck that already has glossy black pieces; satin hides fingerprints and sits closer to textured plastic. The shop holds samples of both against the truck before anything is cut. The chrome delete service page explains the three levels, from window trim up to a full blackout, and if the truck is getting tint at the same time, Ram 2500 window tint can go into the same booking.
