How much is PPF on an Acura MDX?
Expect $850 and up for Partial Front and $1,550 and up for Full Front in LLumar Platinum. A three-row SUV this size can land above those floors, depending on the trim’s front end and on how much correction the paint needs first.
| MDX coverage | Bumper | Hood and fenders | Extras | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Whole | Leading edge only | Headlights, mirrors | $850 |
| Full Front | Whole | Complete panels | Headlights, mirrors | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Whole | Complete panels | Adds rockers, A-pillars and a front band of roof | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | Whole | Complete panels | Every other painted surface, headlights | $4,000 |
Platinum is backed by LLumar’s 10-year manufacturer’s limited warranty; the defects the shop names as covered are yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling. Fine swirls in its surface close up when warmed. Each piece is software-cut for its panel, and edges get wrapped wherever the shape permits.
Why does the MDX’s long hood point to Full Front?
Because there’s a lot of it. When the fourth-generation MDX arrived for 2022, Acura’s launch release said the dash-to-axle distance had grown by “more than 4-inches”, which “lengthens the hood line significantly”, and described the hood as “long and sharply creased”.
Partial Front protects the leading section of that hood, which takes the most stones, and leaves a film edge across the paint further back. Full Front films the hood from grille to windshield and both fenders whole, so there’s no line to see and no unprotected section behind it. The same release also mentions four-element Jewel Eye LED headlights; both front packages put film over them.
Where are the sensors and cameras on an MDX’s front end?
Mostly in the grille and the bumpers. For the 2025 refresh, Acura’s rundown of the updated MDX lists a new “grille-mounted millimeter-wave radar” alongside a front single-lens camera.
| Sensor or camera | Where Acura puts it | What it means for PPF |
|---|---|---|
| Front radar (2025 on) | In the grille | Film goes on painted panels, not the grille |
| Parking sensors, 4 front and 4 rear | Bumpers, all 2026 trims except the base MDX | Pattern is checked against each one |
| Surround-view cameras (Advance trims) | Grille, outside mirrors, rear licence plate finisher | Mirror film has to leave the camera clear |
| Blind spot radar | Rear bumper | Matters for Full Vehicle coverage |
The parking sensor count comes from Acura’s 2026 specification sheet; the camera positions from its surround-view camera page; and the rear radar from its blind spot information page. Tell the shop your trim so the pattern can be checked against each of these before cutting. If a bumper curve forces a relief cut, its spot is pointed out to you beforehand.
Is the MDX’s premium paint worth protecting?
If you paid extra for it, it’s the first thing a chip spoils. Acura says its premium paints use “two separate base coats”, one with mica and one with nano pigments, which is where their depth comes from. Acura’s 2026 MDX colour list marks six of its eight shades as premium: Majestic Black Pearl, Liquid Carbon Metallic, Performance Red Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Double Apex Blue Pearl and Urban Gray Pearl.
Gloss Platinum leaves that finish looking as it did. The matte version turns gloss paint satin, a look worth seeing in person on a darker MDX; matte PPF shows what changes. The paint gets a decontamination wash, and correction where it’s needed, before the film.
How do you book MDX PPF in Langley?
Share the year, trim, colour and the package you’re leaning toward. Highway drivers weighing up coverage can start with what PPF coverage Highway 1 commuters need.
Partial Front keeps the MDX for a day. Full Front or Track needs one to two days, Full Vehicle three to five, and the first wash waits a week. Ask for a figure on the MDX PPF quote form, and see Acura MDX window tint to book the glass in the same visit.
