Ford Explorer PPF in Langley, BC

At a glance

At Brookswood Tint, an Explorer's paint protection begins at $850 (Partial Front) and $1,550 (Full Front), with the Track Package from $1,900 and full coverage from $4,000, all in LLumar Platinum, a self-healing film. Those are floors, and a three-row SUV can price above them. On the 2027 Explorer the trim sets what the film meets up front, from the Tremor's auxiliary-light grille to a matte hood graphic Ford offers on the Active and Platinum.

What does PPF cost on a Ford Explorer?

Four LLumar Platinum packages, starting at $850, $1,550, $1,900 and $4,000. An Explorer has three rows, a long hood and tall front fenders, so once the shop has seen your trim and paint, the figure can land above those floors.

Package on an Explorer Film covers From
Partial Front Whole front bumper, the leading part of the hood and fenders, headlamps, mirrors $850
Full Front Entire hood, both front fenders, the bumper, headlamps, mirrors $1,550
Track Package Full Front plus the windshield pillars, front of the roof and rocker panels $1,900
Full Vehicle Every painted panel on the SUV, plus the headlamps $4,000

Platinum is self-healing film cut from software templates and wrapped around panel edges wherever the shape allows. Where an Explorer bumper’s shape forces a relief cut, you’ll be shown the spot first. The warranty is LLumar’s, a 10-year limited one, and the shop’s published terms name four faults it covers: yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling. Torn between the first two packages? The partial versus full front comparison sets them side by side.

What sits on the front of each 2027 Explorer trim?

Each trim has its own nose, and every grille opening, badge and sensor is an edge the film is trimmed around. Ford Canada’s 2027 trim pages list these:

2027 trim Grille On or along the hood Other front items
Active Black mesh with chrome bars Matte clear hood graphic and smoke hood deflector, both optional LED fog lamps optional
ST-Line Black mesh EXPLORER badge Front parking sensors, 360-degree camera, black skid plate elements
Tremor Unique, with off-road auxiliary lights EXPLORER badge Silver-painted skid plate elements, unique front tow hooks
Platinum Satin chrome and ebony Matte clear hood graphic and smoke hood deflector, both optional Adaptive headlamps, silver-painted skid plate elements
ST Black mesh EXPLORER badge Black skid plate elements

The Tremor’s auxiliary lights and tow hooks give its bumper more openings than the others, and raised hood lettering is one more outline for the pattern. None of this changes the package you choose; it changes how long the fitting takes and which template the plotter cuts. Give the shop your exact trim and any dealer add-ons so the pattern matches the SUV in the bay.

Can film go over the Explorer’s matte hood graphic?

It can, but decide how with the hood in front of you, because either finish changes something. Ford lists a “Matte Clear Hood Graphic” as an option on the 2027 Active and Platinum, and it sits on the very panel both front packages cover.

Gloss film laid over a matte graphic gives it a shine it didn’t leave the factory with. LLumar Platinum Matte keeps the graphic’s low sheen but turns the gloss paint around it satin, across the whole hood. The third route is to cut the film around the graphic. Talk the three options through with the shop before anything is applied; matte PPF covers the satin film in more depth.

The optional smoke hood deflector matters for the same reason: it sits along the hood’s front edge, which is exactly where Partial Front film begins. Say whether one is fitted, or whether you plan to add one later.

Which Explorer paints are most worth covering?

The ones Ford charges extra for. On the 2027 colour list, Star White Metallic Tri-coat, Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Vapour Blue Metallic are extra-cost colours, as is Marsh Grey on the trims that offer it; Agate Black Metallic, Avalanche Grey and Carbonized Grey Metallic are not. Ford’s Platinum and ST pages call Ruby Red and Avalanche Grey new for 2027.

A tri-coat or tinted clearcoat is built from more than one layer of colour, which makes a stone chip harder to touch up invisibly than one in a solid shade. With film over the front panels, the stone hits the film first. One more detail if you order a black painted roof, offered on the ST-Line, Platinum and ST: the Track Package’s partial roof coverage lands on that black paint, where chips and scuffs are easy to spot.

How do you book Explorer PPF in Langley?

Send the year, trim and colour, and mention the hood graphic, a deflector or a tow package if fitted. Choose a package, or ask the shop to suggest one from how you drive. Partial Front usually takes one day, Full Front or Track one to two, and the whole Explorer three to five, with paint decontaminated and corrected where needed before any film goes on.

Request a price through the Explorer PPF quote form. If the glass is on your list too, Ford Explorer window tint covers the privacy-glass question, and the Explorer chrome delete deals with the bright trim.

Questions about ford Explorer PPF

01Partial or Full Front for an Explorer that lives on Highway 1?

Full Front takes the film across the entire hood and both fenders, so no film edge crosses the hood. Partial Front still covers the whole bumper, the spot that collects the most stones, and costs $700 less to start.

02Can a gloss Explorer be given a satin look with PPF?

Yes. LLumar Platinum Matte protects like the gloss film but turns gloss paint satin, on any Explorer colour. Look at a sample on your paint before choosing it.

03When can I wash my Explorer after PPF?

Give it seven days before the first wash, which is the shop's advice, even though LLumar's own FAQ allows three. After that, hand or touchless washes only, with the pressure nozzle kept off the film edges.

04Does the shop need to know about my Explorer's front camera and sensors?

Yes. Ford lists a 360-degree camera and front parking sensors as standard on the 2027 ST-Line, and the film pattern has to match the parts on your SUV, so mention them when you ask for a price.
