What does PPF cost on a Mazda CX-5?
Starting prices for the four LLumar Platinum packages go from $850 up to $4,000. A bigger vehicle, a busier bumper or paint that needs correcting first all raise the final figure.
| Package | Covers | From |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Full bumper, partial hood, partial fenders, headlights, side mirrors | $850 |
| Full Front | Full hood, full fenders, full bumper, headlights, side mirrors | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Full Front plus partial roof, A-pillars, rocker panels | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | All painted surfaces, headlights | $4,000 |
Platinum’s top layer heals fine scratches when warmed, every piece comes from a software template for the CX-5, and edges are wrapped wherever the panel shape permits. LLumar gives a 10-year limited warranty, which in the shop’s own terms covers yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling. For everything the Full Front includes, see the full front PPF page.
What do Mazda’s radar warnings mean for film on a CX-5?
They mark the places where film has to stop. The 2026 CX-5 manual’s radar sensor section shows a front radar sensor, front side radar sensors on some models and rear side radar sensors, and lists the cautions that keep them working.
Mazda’s cautions include: “Do not apply stickers on parts near the radar sensors.” “Do not install any parts that cover the front of the radar sensors.” “Do not replace the radiator grille and emblem with anything other than genuine products.” Mazda also asks owners to consult a dealer before painting parts near the sensors.
Film isn’t a sticker or a painted part, but it is a layer on the bumper, so the safe reading is to keep it off the sensor zones Mazda shows. Have the edges pointed out to you in advance: a bumper can need a relief cut, and its position is shown before the film goes down. The manual adds ultrasonic parking sensors, whose detection range is longer on cars with the 360° View Monitor, which Mazda Canada lists with the GT Premium Package.
Is Soul Red Crystal worth protecting with film?
If you paid extra for it, yes. Mazda Canada lists seven colours for the 2026 CX-5: Machine Gray Metallic, Rhodium White Premium, Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Polymetal Gray Metallic, Aero Gray Metallic, Jet Black Mica and the new Navy Blue Mica. Its own lease example adds a $500 paint charge for Soul Red Crystal.
Once a stone chips any of them, the fix is touch-up paint or a respray. Film on the panels that face the road keeps the chip from reaching the paint at all. On a colour you paid extra for, Full Front is worth a look, since it carries the film to the panel edges instead of leaving the cut line across the hood that Partial Front does.
Which PPF package suits how you drive your CX-5?
Match it to the roads. For mostly city driving, the Partial Front covers the surfaces that take the first hits. A daily Highway 1 run, with more speed and more grit, favours Full Front. Gravel, or the urge to protect the whole car, points to Track or Full Vehicle. The answer on PPF coverage for Highway 1 commuters works through that choice.
Timing: a day for most Partial Front jobs, one or two for Full Front and Track, three to five for Full Vehicle. Decontamination, and correction if the paint calls for it, comes first.
How should a CX-5 with PPF be washed?
By hand or touchless, starting seven days after installation. Mazda’s exterior maintenance section wants a gap of 30 cm or more between any pressure-washer nozzle and the car, and cautions that automatic car wash brushes can take the lustre off paint, both of which suit filmed panels too; the shop adds that the nozzle should stay off film edges. The CX-5 film quote form needs the model year, trim and colour; texting them to 604 534 6433 works too.
