How much does it cost to ceramic coat a CX-5?
It’s quoted for each car. The shop doesn’t post coating prices; the correction a CX-5’s paint needs varies from car to car, and it’s part of the figure. What you’re choosing between is the number of layers, the prep and the surfaces covered.
| Package | Layers | Correction first | Coated |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | None listed | Paint |
| Performance | 2 | Two-stage | Paint, wheel faces, glass |
| Signature | 4 | Full | Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim |
The visit runs one to three days. Readings of the paint’s thickness come first, and add-ons for glass, wheels and calipers or the interior can be quoted alongside. The ceramic coating page covers the graphene-ceramic system.
Which CX-5 colours need correction before coating?
Mostly the dark and the deep ones. Mazda Canada lists seven 2026 colours, and they don’t all hide marring equally.
| 2026 CX-5 colour | What to expect before coating |
|---|---|
| Jet Black Mica, Navy Blue Mica | Swirls and haze show clearly; plan on correction |
| Soul Red Crystal Metallic | An extra-cost colour; polish out swirls before they’re sealed in |
| Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Aero Gray Metallic | Greys hide light marring better than black |
| Rhodium White Premium | Marring is hard to see; the gain is easier cleaning |
Mazda describes Navy Blue Mica, new for 2026, as using metallic flakes for its effect, and charges extra for Soul Red Crystal in its own offer terms. A coating seals in whatever is underneath, so on those colours the two-stage correction in Performance, or the full correction in Signature, is where the difference shows. For dark paint in particular, see whether ceramic coating suits a black car.
Do the CX-5’s wheels get coated too?
On Performance and Signature, yes. What gets coated depends on the trim: Mazda Canada lists 17-inch grey metallic alloys on the GX, 19-inch wheels with machined, polished spokes and dark painted pockets on the GS, and 19-inch black metallic wheels on the GT and GT Premium.
Performance includes the faces and Signature the full wheels, with calipers available as an extra. A coated wheel sheds water and brake dust rinses off it more readily, whichever finish your trim has. The wheel coating page covers the add-on.
What does Mazda’s care advice mean for a coated CX-5?
Mazda’s rules still apply after a coating, and some are worth knowing before you wash. The 2026 manual’s exterior maintenance section asks owners to:
- Wash promptly after driving on roads treated with de-icing agent, or when bird droppings, insects, tree sap or tar land on the paint.
- Avoid harsh products: no wax containing compounds, organic solvents, alcohols, acidic or alkaline detergents, or bleach.
- Keep the pressure washer back: at least 30 cm between nozzle and car.
- Go easy on the roof: pressing hard on one spot while washing or waxing can dent it.
A coating makes each of those washes quicker, because grime lets go with less scrubbing. It doesn’t make them unnecessary.
What should you know before coating a CX-5’s windshield?
Glass is in the Performance and Signature packages, and on a CX-5 two things matter around the windshield. The forward camera looks through it, and Mazda’s forward camera section says not to let glass cleaners or similar fluids get on the camera lens. On models with automatic wipers, the same exterior maintenance section warns that wiping the glass above the rain sensor can start the wipers, so set the wiper lever to OFF before anyone works on the windshield.
How do you book a CX-5 coating in Langley?
Pass on the year, trim and colour, and mention any paint protection film already on the car or planned; film goes on before the coating. The shop books a time to measure and inspect the paint, then confirms the package and the quote. For the first 24 hours after pickup, keep the CX-5 out of rain and hoses. The CX-5 coating quote form takes the details, or text the shop at 604 534 6433.
