How much is window tint for a Mazda CX-5?
$260 and up in LLumar ATC dyed film, using the shop’s SUV package: rear doors, the side windows behind them and the liftgate glass. Moving up to IRX or AIR ceramic changes the price, which the shop quotes per package.
| CX-5 glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, rear side windows, liftgate | LLumar ATC dyed | $260 |
| The same windows in ceramic | LLumar IRX or AIR | Quoted per package |
| Front doors | Any | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield | Any | $200, only the top 75 mm is legal |
| Panorama sunroof | Any | Quoted per vehicle |
The price includes genuine LLumar film, a plotter-cut pattern for your CX-5’s year, heat-shrinking by hand, and the lifetime warranty on film and labour. Plan on two to four hours. The SUV window tint page shows how the rear package is counted.
Why does the CX-5’s model year matter for tint?
Because the 2026 CX-5 is a new generation. Mazda Canada calls it the all-new CX-5, about 4.5 inches longer than the previous generation, sold in GX, GS, GT and GT Premium trims. The plotter cuts each window from a pattern drawn for the exact year, make and model, so the year decides which pattern is used.
The new generation also brings features that touch the glass:
- Windshield-projected Active Driving Display from the GS up.
- A panorama sunroof on some models, which Mazda’s owner’s manual describes as tilting and sliding from an overhead switch.
- A forward camera behind the windshield that feeds Smart Brake Support, Mazda Radar Cruise Control and lane-keeping systems.
Why does Mazda say no film near the CX-5’s forward camera?
Because the camera reads the road through the glass, and anything in front of the lens can confuse it. The 2026 CX-5 manual’s forward camera section says: “Do not apply accessories, stickers, or film to the windshield near the forward camera. If the area in front of the forward camera lens is obstructed, it will cause the system to not operate correctly even if it is transparent.”
That last phrase rules out clear film near the camera too, and near-clear AIR is what most drivers choose when they do film a windshield. On top of that, BC confines windshield film to a 75 mm band at the top, and the shop installs a full windshield only when asked, once it has explained that it isn’t road-legal. The answer on windshield tint with an ADAS camera sets Mazda’s wording beside other carmakers’.
Can the CX-5’s panorama sunroof take film?
Yes, on the models that have it, and it’s quoted per vehicle. Mazda pairs the glass with a sunshade, and whenever that shade is open, film on the roof glass cuts heat and glare. AIR does so while still looking clear from inside. See the glass roof tint page for how a roof is priced.
What tint is legal on a CX-5 in BC?
Behind the driver, any shade is legal, liftgate glass included, because the CX-5 has a mirror on each side. MVAR s. 7.05(8) rules out film on the front door glass entirely and on the windshield beneath its top 75 mm. One CX-5 detail matters at the back: Mazda’s manual says the rear defogger filaments are installed inside the rear window and warns against scratching them, so old film there comes off with steam, not a blade. Fines and inspection details are in the front-window answer for BC.
How do you book CX-5 tint in Langley?
Gather the model year, the trim and the shade you’re leaning towards, and say if there’s a panorama sunroof. The car is usually ready the same day. Keep the filmed windows closed for three to five days. Early haze is normal and fades as the film dries out. Then fill in the CX-5 tint quote form or message 604 534 6433.
