What does PPF cost for a Mazda CX-50?
Starting prices run from $850 for the nose alone to $4,000 for every painted panel, all in LLumar Platinum, gloss or matte. Size, panel shape and the prep your paint needs can take the final figure higher.
| Coverage | Starting price | Panels | Usual time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | $850 | Whole bumper, the first part of the hood and front fenders, headlights, mirror caps | 1 day |
| Full Front | $1,550 | Hood and front fenders edge to edge, plus bumper, headlamps and mirror caps | 1–2 days |
| Track Package | $1,900 | A-pillars, a leading band of roof and the rockers, added to Full Front | 1–2 days |
| Full Vehicle | $4,000 | Each painted panel on the SUV, plus the headlights | 3–5 days |
Mazda Canada’s 2025 CX-50 specifications give the CX-50 a length of 4,720 mm and a width of 1,920 mm measured over its wheel arch mouldings. Platinum’s top coat heals light swirls with heat, LLumar backs it for 10 years, and the shop’s own published terms cover yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling. Partial versus full front PPF weighs the first two packages.
Where does a CX-50 take stone damage?
At the front first: the bumper face, the nose of the hood, the headlamp lenses and the mirror caps. Mazda Canada says the CX-50 is “designed and outfitted for trails and paved roads alike”, and describes its Off-road drive mode as made “for increased control on unpaved and icy surfaces”.
Mazda’s own manual expects stones to reach this SUV. Its camera cautions say a camera lens that’s “badly damaged by flying gravel” has to be replaced, and the forward camera section says a windshield cracked by gravel should be replaced too. Film doesn’t go on glass or lenses, but the paint around them faces the same spray. If your CX-50 sees logging roads or gravel shoulders, the Track Package or Full Vehicle covers more of the lower body; off-road paint protection works through those choices.
How is film planned around the CX-50’s radar and sensors?
Around them, by Mazda’s own rules. The 2025 manual’s radar sensor section tells owners to keep stickers off the parts around the radar sensors, to fit nothing over their face, and to use nothing but a genuine front radar sensor cover. Mazda doesn’t mention paint protection film by name, so have the shop point out where each film edge will land around that cover before work starts.
Trim adds hardware. The Canadian sheet gives the GT and above front and rear parking sensors and a 360° View Monitor, and Mazda’s camera page says nothing should be stuck around a camera. The ultrasonic sensor cautions also warn against blasting the sensors with high-pressure water. The manual also places rear side radar sensors at the back of the SUV, which only matters for Full Vehicle.
Which CX-50 parts are black trim, not paint?
A fair amount, and it changes by trim. The packages are priced on body-colour paint; black garnish and cladding can be added to a quote if you want them filmed.
| 2025 trim (Canada) | Black or dark exterior pieces Mazda lists |
|---|---|
| GS-L | Black power heated mirrors, B and C pillar garnish in black |
| GT | Piano black grille, power-folding black mirrors, pillar garnish in piano black |
| GT Turbo | Adds a black front and rear lower bumper with silver accents |
| Meridian Edition | Side rocker garnish and hood graphics; the Apex Package adds front and rear splash guards |
Mazda’s model page also lists “rugged cladding” among the features meant for trails. Where that cladding meets paint around the wheel arches is where film edges need the neatest finish. The lower sides can also be filmed on their own; see rocker panel PPF.
What CX-50 paint colours are you protecting?
Including one that no other Mazda offers. Mazda Canada calls Zircon Sand Metallic an exterior colour “exclusive to the CX-50”, and its footnotes say Wind Chill Pearl and Cypress are Toyota Motor Corporation body colours, offered on the GS-L, GT and GT Turbo. The 2025 sheet lists Soul Red Crystal Metallic, Machine Grey Metallic and Polymetal Grey Metallic among the extra-cost colours.
Gloss Platinum keeps whichever factory finish you chose looking as it left the plant. LLumar Platinum Matte gives the same protection with a satin look instead.
How do you book CX-50 PPF in Langley?
Share the year, trim and colour, plus the package you’re leaning towards. The shop checks the paint, decontaminates it and corrects defects first, because clear film shows what’s beneath it, then confirms the pattern and a drop-off day.
Leave the CX-50 unwashed for a week after pickup; then stick to hand or touchless washing with no brushes, and keep pressure nozzles back from film edges and sensors alike. Use the CX-50 PPF quote form to start. The glass can be booked alongside: CX-50 window tint begins at $260 for the rear set.
