How much is PPF on a Mazda CX-90?
From $850 to $4,000 depending on the package, all in LLumar Platinum with LLumar’s 10-year limited warranty. Those are starting prices: a three-row SUV has more hood, bumper and fender than a compact, and the final figure depends on size, panel complexity and paint condition.
| Package | What it covers | From |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Full bumper, the leading part of the hood and fenders, headlights, mirrors | $850 |
| Full Front | The whole hood and both fenders, plus bumper, headlights and mirrors | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Full Front, A-pillars, part of the roof, rocker panels | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | Every painted surface and the headlights | $4,000 |
A Partial Front job usually fits in one day; Full Front and Track need one to two, Full Vehicle three to five. The shop’s published warranty terms name yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling as covered. The difference between the first two packages is set out in partial versus full front PPF.
Where are the radar sensors on a CX-90’s front end?
At the front of the car, with the side units in the bumper. The CX-90 manual’s radar section lists a front radar sensor and, on some models, front side radar sensors set in the bumper, and its rules point at the grille: Mazda says not to replace “the radiator grille and emblem” with anything but genuine parts.
The same section sets out rules for the area around them:
- No stickers near the sensors, and no parts that cover their front.
- Front side radar may stop detecting if the bumper around it is deformed or has something stuck to it.
- Repairs or paint near a sensor should go through a Mazda dealer.
Mazda’s manual doesn’t mention paint protection film by name. Film is cut from a CX-90 template for the year and trim, and you should ask to see where each edge will sit around the emblem and the bumper corners before anything goes down.
What about the CX-90’s parking sensors and front camera?
On upper trims the front bumper carries both. Mazda Canada lists front and rear parking sensors and the 360° View Monitor from the GT up, while the PHEV GS-L has rear sensors only. The manual’s ultrasonic sensor section says not to put stickers on the sensors or blast them with high-pressure water.
The front camera is the telling detail. Mazda’s camera section says that if the lens “is badly damaged by flying gravel”, the camera has to be replaced. Mazda’s own manual expects stones to reach the front of this SUV, and the paint around the nose faces the same stones.
Which PPF package fits a CX-90?
Full Front makes sense for a CX-90 that sees Highway 1 or gravel shoulders, because it covers the whole hood and fenders with no film line across them. Partial Front is the budget choice and protects the bumper, which takes the most hits.
Trim decides one more thing. Mazda Canada’s CX-90 page gives the Signature body-coloured wheel arch trim and body-coloured rocker panel accent trim, so paint runs low along the sides where other trims have black cladding, right where grit thrown up by the tires lands. The Track Package adds rocker panels to Full Front; its coverage is detailed on the track package page.
How do you book CX-90 PPF in Langley?
Send the year, trim, colour and the package you’re considering. The shop inspects the paint, decontaminates it and corrects it first where needed, because clear film shows whatever is underneath.
Leave the first wash for a week after pickup; after that, wash by hand or touchless only, with pressure nozzles kept off the film edges, which also respects Mazda’s rule about sensors. Start with the CX-90 PPF quote form. If the glass is on your list too, CX-90 window tint starts at $260 for the rear windows.
