How much does PPF cost on a Subaru Forester?
Four LLumar Platinum packages, starting at $850 and running to $4,000. Those are starting points; the Forester’s size, its panel shapes and the state of the paint settle the final figure.
| Package | Panels on a Forester | From |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Painted upper bumper, front of the hood and fenders, headlights, mirrors | $850 |
| Full Front | Whole hood, whole fenders, painted bumper, headlights, mirrors | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Full Front plus A-pillars, part of the roof, rocker area | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | Every painted panel, headlights | $4,000 |
Platinum’s top coat heals light scratches with heat, and the film is cut from software templates and wrapped around edges when a panel’s shape allows. The warranty is LLumar’s 10-year limited one; the shop’s published terms mention yellowing, cracking, bubbling or peeling. More on the film and packages is on the paint protection film page.
Which parts of a Forester are painted and which are cladding?
A good share of a Forester’s lower body is unpainted cladding. Subaru Canada’s 2026 spec sheet lists black cladding on the wheel arches of every trim and lower cladding on the bumpers and rocker panels, with accents that change by trim.
| 2026 Forester | Lower bumper and rocker cladding | Mirrors |
|---|---|---|
| Convenience | Black | Black |
| Touring | Black | Dark grey |
| Sport | Black with bronze accents | Gloss black |
| Limited | Black with dark grey accents | Dark grey |
| Premier, Hybrid Premier | Black with gloss black accents | Gloss black |
The same sheet lists an aluminum hood with a sound insulator on every trim. Whatever the metal underneath, the hood is the biggest forward-facing painted panel on the car, which makes it, the upper bumper and the fenders the core of any Forester package.
Where do stones hit a Forester hardest?
On the nose first, then along the sides when the road is loose. The leading edge of the hood, the painted bumper, the headlights and the mirror caps meet highway grit head-on; TranBC sets a 9.5 mm limit on the size of winter abrasive for main highways and warns that the faster traffic moves, the harder that grit lands, with 110 km/h carrying close to twice the impact energy of 80.
Subaru also gives the 2026 Forester 220 mm of ground clearance and X-MODE on every trim, equipment aimed at loose and unpaved surfaces. On gravel the front tires throw stones back along the lower doors. The cladding takes some of that, but the painted door skin above it is bare, which is the case for the Track Package’s rocker coverage or a Full Vehicle job. The Fraser Valley winter rock chip guide explains how the season changes the risk.
Does film on a Forester get in the way of EyeSight?
EyeSight watches the road through cameras behind the windshield, and PPF goes on paint, not glass. Subaru Canada explains that, depending on model and year, EyeSight relies on up to three cameras, and the 2026 spec sheet adds a wide-angle mono camera to the Forester’s list.
Subaru’s bulletin 06-45-13R for the 2014 Forester does warn that hood protectors other than genuine Subaru accessories “may interfere with EyeSight operation”. That refers to add-on deflectors that stand up from the hood; if you run one as well as film, make it a genuine part. At the back, the Touring and higher trims add Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Reverse Automatic Braking, so a Full Vehicle quote should say how the rear bumper film is finished around any sensors those systems rely on.
How do you book Forester PPF in Langley?
Start with the year, trim and colour. Expect to leave a Forester for roughly a day with Partial Front, a day or two with the larger front packages, and between three and five days for every panel; any decontamination or correction happens before the film. The first wash waits a week, and hand or touchless washing is the routine after that. Subaru’s EyeSight page also asks drivers to switch the system off when going through a car wash. Send everything through the Forester PPF quote form, or by text to 604 534 6433.
