What does a GLS wrap cost?
It’s quoted per SUV, because a GLS job can be one panel or every painted surface on a three-row body. The figure follows the coverage, the film and finish, and how many parts come off for clean edges.
Each quote includes 3M or Avery Dennison cast vinyl fitted by hand, a paint inspection before work starts and the shop’s published 5-year warranty on the film.
| Job on a GLS | What changes | Time in the shop | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full colour change | Every painted exterior panel, flares included on an AMG Line; door jambs optional | 3 to 5 days | Quoted per vehicle |
| Hood or single panel | One panel in a contrast colour or finish | Same day to 2 days | Quoted per vehicle |
| Accents | Mirror caps, a stripe set or the trim | Same day to 2 days | Quoted per vehicle |
Size drives a GLS quote. When Mercedes launched the current generation it stretched the wheelbase by 60 mm over the previous one, and every GLS has three rows, per the 2019 GLS introduction. That means long rear doors and tall quarter panels.
What did the shop’s own GLS wrap involve?
A full colour change from gloss black paint to Avery Dennison Matte Metallic Gunmetal. The grille chrome, the black trim and the wheels weren’t touched. The before and after photos are on the GLS Matte Metallic Gunmetal project.
That job shows what a wrap keeps and what it changes. In the photos, the reflections of the black paint give way to one even grey sheen down the whole side, and the factory finish is still under the film. More on the colour itself is on Matte Metallic Gunmetal.
Why wrap a GLS instead of ordering Magno paint?
Because factory matte has to be chosen when the GLS is built. Mercedes-Benz USA offers the GLS in solids, metallics and matte finishes, with nine MANUFAKTUR colours. The 2026 GLS 450 MANUFAKTUR Editions featured MANUFAKTUR Silicon Grey and MANUFAKTUR Moonlight White Magno paints, per the 2026 model line updates, and Silicon Grey had already joined the GLS palette as one of four MANUFAKTUR Signature paints in the 2025 updates.
Vinyl gets a matte or satin finish onto a GLS that left the factory gloss, and it can come off when you sell. It also protects the paint under it from light scuffs, though it isn’t impact film. If you want matte and stone protection together, matte PPF vs matte wrap compares the routes.
Which GLS panels and trim shape the job?
The flares, the hood and the roof each need a decision.
- Flares: the AMG Line’s fender flares are colour-keyed, according to Mercedes-Benz USA, which means a colour change takes them along with the body unless you say otherwise.
- Hood star: the same page says the star stands on the GLS 450 hood, while AMG Line and GLS 580 models carry it in the grille. A standing star means the hood film is worked around its base.
- Roof: Mercedes’s March 2026 GLS release describes a standard panoramic roof whose glass spans the full width and length of the roof, so on that GLS there’s little painted roof left to wrap a contrast colour onto.
Chrome trim isn’t part of a colour change. To black it out as well, see GLS chrome delete.
How do you book a GLS wrap in Langley?
List the year, model and trim, the colour you’re after, and whether you want door jambs. A few photos of the paint help: it’s inspected before work starts, and resprayed panels can lift when vinyl is later removed.
Warranty terms depend on the film and the panel. 3M lists Canada in warranty Zone 2, where its 2080 warranty card gives 7 years on vertical panels and 2 on horizontal ones; the hood is horizontal. ICBC treats a wrap as additional vehicle equipment, so keep the invoice and see whether to tell ICBC about a wrap. Ask through the GLS wrap quote form or call 604 534 6433.
