What does window tint cost on an Audi RS7?
$240 in LLumar ATC for the rear doors, any quarter glass and the tailgate window. Audi calls the RS7 “an innovative sedan with a coupé-like grand tourer design” in its RS7 press kit, and it’s priced on the sedan package.
| Audi RS7 | Glass | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear package | Both rear door windows, any quarter glass, the tailgate window | $240 |
| IRX or AIR instead of ATC | Same rear glass, ceramic film | Priced per package |
| Front doors | Frameless driver and passenger panes | $140, illegal on BC roads |
| Full windshield | Applied from the inside | $200; BC permits only the top 75 mm |
Every piece is plotted to the RS7’s pattern, so nothing is cut on the glass, and then shrunk and fitted by hand. Both the film, under LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty, and the shop’s labour, under its own lifetime warranty, are covered for life. The sedan tint page shows how the five-window package works on other four-doors.
How does film go on the RS7’s frameless acoustic glass?
On the inside face, as on any other window. Audi’s aerodynamics notes say the RS7 keeps cabin noise down “despite the frameless doors” with a careful sealing system, and that Audi “installs acoustic glazing 6 millimeters (0.2 in) thick for the front and side windows.”
Two things follow. Acoustic glazing has its sound-damping layer sealed inside the glass, so the film never touches it; tinting acoustic laminated side glass explains that in more depth. And with no frame around the door glass, the top edge of each rear door pane is on show every time the door opens, so the plotted cut has to sit cleanly inside that edge. Audi’s notes describe the German-market car, so confirm your glass when you book.
Why does the RS7’s windshield camera matter for a sun strip?
Because the laser lights depend on it. Audi’s lighting notes explain that the laser spotlight, active above 70 km/h, is dimmed automatically “if the camera on the windshield detects other vehicles within range.”
BC already limits windshield film to the top 75 mm, close to where a forward camera’s housing usually sits. A legal strip is cut around the housing so its view stays clear; tinting a windshield with an ADAS camera covers what carmakers say about film near these cameras.
Which RS7 windows can be tinted under BC law?
Everything behind the driver, at any darkness. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on side windows behind the driver and on the rear window when the car has outside mirrors on both sides, which covers the RS7’s rear doors, quarter glass and tailgate window.
The frameless front door panes, acoustic glazing and all, are still front side windows, and film on them isn’t road-legal. The shop fits them for $140 on request only after explaining that a ticket typically costs $109 and that police can order the film removed and the car inspected. Front window tint in BC covers the rule.
Booking RS7 tint in Langley
Tell the shop the year, whether it’s an RS7 or RS7 performance, and which film you have in mind. Audi’s rescue sheet files this generation of the A7, S7 and RS7 Sportback under 2018 to 2025, and the film is cut to your year.
The tailgate is the biggest single piece. Audi’s body notes describe a long tailgate that opens electrically, and its glass follows a window line that rises toward the rear, so it takes the most heat-forming. Plan on two to four hours, then keep the windows up for three to five days. Book through the RS7 tint quote form or call 604 534 6433, and see Audi RS7 PPF for the paint.
