What does window tint cost on a BMW M4?
An M4 Coupe falls in the sports coupe class, so its starting price is $220 in LLumar ATC dyed film for the two quarter windows and the back glass. Swapping those three M4 panes to IRX nano-ceramic or near-clear AIR is priced car by car.
| M4 glass | What’s covered | From |
|---|---|---|
| Coupe rear package | The M4’s two quarter windows plus its back glass | $220 |
| Ceramic upgrade | IRX or AIR on those three M4 panes | Quoted per car |
| Glass sliding roof (2025 steel roof only) | The opening roof panel | Quoted per car |
| M4 Convertible | The glass behind the doors and the soft top’s rear window | Quoted per car |
| Front door windows | Driver’s and passenger’s door glass | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield | Applied from the inside | $200; on the road, only a 75 mm top strip is legal |
The shop’s plotter cuts every M4 pane from a computer pattern for that model year, which keeps blades off the glass and the rubber seals; each piece is then shrunk with heat and laid by hand. LLumar’s lifetime film warranty and the shop’s lifetime labour warranty both apply. The other vehicle classes are listed on the window tint prices page.
Does every BMW M4 have glass in the roof?
No. Most M4 Coupes have a carbon fibre roof, so the only glass to film is at the sides and back. In its 2021 launch release, BMW names CFRP as the roof material for the new M4 and says two longitudinal fins on top help the airflow.
For 2025 that became a choice. The 2025 M4 announcement added a steel roof at no extra cost, and it “includes an electrically operated glass sliding roof”. On a car with that roof, the glass panel can take film as well and is priced separately; the sunroof and panoramic roof tint page covers how roof glass is quoted. A roof with two raised fins and no opening panel is the standard carbon one.
How is the M4 Convertible’s rear window tinted?
It’s real glass, so it takes film like a coupe’s back glass, but it lives in a fabric roof. BMW’s M4 Competition Convertible release describes a panel bow soft top that combines large panel bow elements “with a flush-fitting glass rear window”, and says the roof opens or closes in 18 seconds at up to 50 km/h.
Because that window folds away with the top, the convertible isn’t priced on the coupe package. Send photos of the roof closed and the rear seats, and the quote covers exactly the glass your car has.
What can be tinted on an M4 in BC?
Everything behind the driver, at any shade, and nothing beside the driver. On a two-door M4 that means the long door windows stay clear by law, while the rear side windows and the back glass can go as dark as you like.
The rule is MVAR s. 7.05(8): side glass behind the driver may be filmed, back glass may be filmed if mirrors are fitted outside on both sides, and a windshield gets a 75 mm strip at most. An M4 carries BMW’s M-specific mirrors on both doors, so its back glass is covered by the rule. Ask for the long door windows ($140) or a full windshield ($200) and the shop will do it, but an M4 driven like that isn’t road-legal; a ticket typically runs $109, and police may order the film off and the car inspected. That’s spelled out before you commit, and tinting front windows in BC has the rest.
Which LLumar film suits an M4?
Pick by what you want from the glass. ATC is the colour-stable dyed film in the starting price. IRX is the heat film: LLumar’s performance data sheet puts its total solar energy rejection at 50 to 62%. For an M4 that should look untinted, AIR 80 lets through 77% of visible light and still stops 60% of the infrared energy (IRER), per the same sheet.
Each of the three stops over 99% of UV. The M4 seats four, and the two rear passengers sit right beside the quarter glass, so film there is felt by people as well as by the leather. Shade-by-shade IRX numbers are on the LLumar IRX page.
How do you book M4 tint in Langley?
Send the year, the body (Coupe, Convertible, CS or CSL), which roof the car has and the film you’re leaning towards. You’ll get the coupe package figure back, plus the ceramic price and, on a steel-roof car, a number for the sliding glass.
An M4 Coupe usually goes home the day it comes in. If a filmed window can open, keep it shut for three to five days while the adhesive cures; any slight haze in that first week is moisture leaving and fades on its own. If the paint needs protecting at the same time, M4 paint protection film can go in the same stay. Ask for a price through the M4 tint quote form or call 604 534 6433.
