How much is window tint on a Chevrolet Colorado?
The glass behind the driver costs from $240 in LLumar ATC. That’s the shop’s pickup rear package, which on a Colorado means the two rear door windows and the sliding back window.
| Colorado tint job | Glass | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear package | Rear door windows, sliding back window | $240 |
| Same glass in IRX or AIR ceramic | As above | Quoted per package |
| Power sunroof, Z71 or ZR2 | Roof glass, where fitted | Quoted per truck |
| Front door windows | Driver and front passenger | $160, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | 1 | $200, not road-legal below the top 75 mm |
Each piece is plotter-cut to the Colorado’s pattern, shrunk to the glass with heat and fitted by hand, and the warranty is lifetime on the film and the labour. A crew cab pickup is normally done the same day. The truck window tint page shows how the package works across pickups, and the price list has every number.
What glass does every 2026 Colorado share?
The same layout on all five trims, since every 2026 Colorado sold in Canada is a Crew Cab with a short box. Chevrolet Canada’s 2026 Colorado trim comparison lists the glass the same way for the WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71 and ZR2:
| 2026 Colorado glass | What Chevrolet lists |
|---|---|
| Windshield | Solar-absorbing |
| Front door windows | Solar glazing |
| Rear door windows | Privacy glass |
| All other windows except the windshield and front doors | Deep-tinted |
| Back window | Manual sliding rear window, with rear defogger |
| Roof | Power sunroof available on Z71 and ZR2 |
So the rear doors and the back glass arrive dark, and the front doors and windshield don’t. That split lines up with BC’s rule: the darkened glass is exactly the glass you’re allowed to film, and the clear glass is the glass you aren’t.
How does film stack on the Colorado’s privacy glass?
It multiplies. Film lets through a share of whatever light the glass passes, so a dark factory pane plus a dark film can end up much darker than either label suggests.
GM’s service bulletin 21-NA-152 gives a figure for its privacy glass on cars and trucks up to the 2022 model year: a light transmittance of “(nominally) 20%”, against 70% or more for solar glass. That covers older Colorados. For a 2023-or-newer truck, Chevrolet lists privacy glass but no percentage, so treat 20% as a guide and look at samples on the truck. With a 20% film over 20% glass, only about 4% of the light gets through. For heat control with little added darkness, consider AIR 80: LLumar’s performance sheet rates it at 77% visible light transmission and 60% infrared energy rejection (IRER).
Does the Colorado’s manual slider take film?
Yes. Chevrolet fits a manual sliding rear window and a rear defogger on every 2026 trim, and each glass section is filmed separately so the centre panel still slides. The defogger’s heating lines sit under the film and keep working.
The slider counts as part of the $240 package. If old film is ever stripped from this glass, it’s steamed off rather than scraped, which protects the defogger lines; tinting over rear defroster lines explains why the grid isn’t a problem for new film.
What can be tinted on a Colorado under BC law?
The rear door windows and the slider, in any shade. BC’s rule, MVAR s. 7.05(8), is met for both: side glass behind the driver may be filmed, and so may the back window once mirrors are mounted outside on each side, as they are on every Colorado. The front door windows can’t legally carry film, and the windshield only in a band within its top 75 mm.
Every 2026 Colorado also has Chevrolet’s LED Reflective Windshield Collision Alert, which flashes a red warning on the windshield when the truck detects certain front collision threats. The shop will fit front-door film for $160 if asked, once you’ve heard what it risks: a ticket usually around $109 and a possible order to strip it off. The full rule sits on tinting front windows in BC.
How do you book Colorado tint in Langley?
Send the year and trim, whether there’s a sunroof and the film you’re considering. The answer comes back as a rear-glass price, the ceramic step-up and, if needed, the roof.
Keep the side windows and slider closed for three to five days afterwards; a slight haze in the first week is moisture leaving and clears on its own. When cleaning, stick to microfibre and a cleaner without ammonia, and never scrape the film. Ask for a price on the Colorado tint quote form, or send a text to 604 534 6433. The front end has its own page: Colorado paint protection film.
