Ford Mustang Window Tint in Langley, BC

At a glance

Tinting a Ford Mustang fastback starts at $220 at Brookswood Tint for the three panes behind the doors, both rear quarter windows and the back glass, in LLumar ATC with a lifetime warranty. IRX or AIR ceramic is quoted per package, and a convertible is priced from its own glass. Ford fits a rear-window defroster to every 2026 Mustang, convertibles included, so the film on the back glass is laid over a heating grid.

What does Ford Mustang window tint cost?

A Mustang fastback starts at $220 for its three rear panes in LLumar ATC: the quarter window on each side and the back glass. That’s the shop’s sports coupe rear package, and IRX or AIR ceramic on the same glass is quoted on top.

Mustang glass From
Fastback: both rear quarter windows and the back glass $220
The same three panes in IRX or AIR ceramic Quoted per package
Convertible: the glass behind the doors, including the rear window in the top Quoted per car
Front doors $140, not road-legal in BC
Full windshield, from the inside $200, not road-legal in BC

The plotter cuts each pane’s film from the Mustang pattern for your model year, and the installer shrinks and fits it by hand; no knife touches the car. Film and fitting are both warranted for life, the film by LLumar’s limited warranty and the work by the shop. Adding ceramic film or stripping old tint? Ask for one combined figure, since bundled work usually comes in under the list prices added together. The full menu is on the window tint prices page.

Which Mustang windows does BC let you tint?

The quarter windows and the back glass, at any darkness; the doors, no. On a two-door Mustang each door window sits alongside a front seat, so under MVAR s. 7.05(8) it counts as front side glass, and the windshield may only carry film in its top 75 mm.

Film on the back glass is allowed when the car has outside mirrors on both sides, and Ford fits two to every 2026 trim. On a convertible, the glass window in the top is the rear window for that rule. Ask for the doors anyway and the shop will do them for $140, but only once you’ve heard the downside: it’s not road-legal, the usual ticket is $109, and an officer can order the film stripped and the Mustang sent for inspection. The legal detail is in tinting front windows in BC.

Planning a sun strip? Ford’s 2026 trim pages list rain-sensing wipers as standard, from the EcoBoost Fastback to the Dark Horse, and that sensor reads through the windshield, so the strip is planned around it.

How does film handle the Mustang’s heated back glass?

It goes on the inside face, over the defroster lines. Ford’s 2026 trim pages list a rear-window defroster as standard from the EcoBoost Fastback up, and on the GT Premium Convertible the same line confirms the window in the top is heated glass.

Fastback back glass is curved, so the film is shrunk to its shape with a heat gun before it’s squeegeed into place. The grid becomes important later rather than now: if the back glass is ever re-tinted, the old film comes off with steam, not blades, so the lines survive. Tinting over rear defroster lines explains why that matters.

Which LLumar film suits a Mustang?

Pick for what you want from the back glass: heat control, privacy or the look. Ford doesn’t publish a light figure for the Mustang’s rear glass, so judge it on the car before choosing a shade. LLumar’s spec sheet gives these ranges, measured on clear glass:

Film Shades the shop sells Total solar energy rejected (TSER)
ATC, dyed 5, 15, 35, 50% 28–44%
IRX, nano-ceramic 5, 15, 35, 50% 50–62%
AIR 80, near-clear ceramic 80% 43%

The shade in a film’s name is a product code, not a measurement: ATC 50 measures 60% visible light. Dark film on a fastback’s back glass looks sharp but also dims the view in your mirror after sunset, worth weighing if you drive a lot at night. All three films block more than 99% of UV.

How do you book Mustang tint in Langley?

Send the year and trim, say fastback or convertible, and choose ATC, IRX or AIR. You’ll get the rear package figure back, plus the extra for ceramic if you asked about it. Most cars are done the same day.

For three to five days after pickup, keep any filmed window that moves shut so the film can cure. Every 2026 Mustang has one-touch front windows with Global Open, which can lower glass from the key fob, so leave that button alone until the film has cured. Questions about ford Mustang window tint

01Can a Mustang convertible be tinted?

Yes. The glass behind the doors takes film, including the rear window set into the top, which Ford heats with a defroster on the 2026 convertibles. It's quoted per car rather than at the fastback price.

02Does tint on the back glass stop the Mustang's defroster working?

No. The film sits on the inside face over the printed grid. The grid matters more when old film comes off, which is why the shop removes it with steam rather than a blade.

03How dark should the back glass go on a Mustang?

The back glass is your view behind the car, so very dark film makes night reversing harder, even with the camera. ATC 35 or IRX 35 is a middle ground; anything is legal behind the driver in BC.

04Is a Dark Horse tinted any differently from a GT?

No. Both are fastbacks, so their quarter windows and back glass make up the same $220 package. The trim matters more for paint and lamps than for glass.
