What does tinting a Hyundai Tucson cost?
The Tucson is priced as an SUV: $260 in LLumar ATC for the five windows behind the front seats. Swapping in IRX ceramic or near-clear AIR changes the figure, set per package, and the panoramic sunroof has a price of its own.
| Tucson glass | Count | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, quarter windows, tailgate glass | 5 | $260 |
| The same five in IRX or AIR | 5 | Priced per package |
| Panoramic sunroof | Depends on trim | Priced per vehicle |
| Front doors | 2 | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, from the inside | 1 | $200, not road-legal in BC |
Film for a Tucson is plotted from its own pattern and heat-formed to each window, with no blade used on the glass. Both the film and the labour are warrantied for life. Booking the rear glass with the roof or a ceramic upgrade usually comes out cheaper than paying for each on its own, so ask for the combined price. The complete menu is on what window tint costs at the shop.
How does film work over the Tucson’s factory privacy glass?
It adds to it. Hyundai Canada’s 2026 Tucson specifications list “Solar Glass (B-Pillar Forward)” and “Rear window privacy glass”, so the five windows the package covers are already darkened before any film goes on. The two layers multiply, so a 20% film on a pane that already passes only 20% leaves something like 4%.
Hyundai doesn’t publish a transmission figure for that glass, so choose with the car in front of you. Three routes make sense:
- Keep today’s look, cut the heat. AIR 80 is rated at 77% visible light, and its IR energy rejection (IRER) is 60%, so the windows barely change colour.
- Darker, with the strongest heat control. IRX ceramic, rated at 50–62% total solar energy rejected (TSER) across its shades.
- Darker, at the lowest price. ATC dyed film, 28–44% TSER.
UV blocking is over 99% whichever you pick. How stacked tint behaves is covered in film over factory-tinted glass, and the clear film’s full data sits on LLumar AIR.
Can the Tucson’s panoramic sunroof be tinted?
Yes, and it’s quoted on its own. Hyundai lists an available panoramic sunroof with power tilt and slide and one-touch operation on its 2026 specification sheet. Roof film fitting and pricing are explained on panoramic roof tint.
What’s on a Tucson’s windshield that film must avoid?
A camera, and on some trims a rain sensor. Hyundai’s SmartSense safety suite uses cameras and radar, and Transport Canada recall 2026-238, a software update for 2025 and 2026 Tucsons, confirms that forward collision avoidance works from a front camera. The 2026 sheet also lists rain-sensing wipers and an acoustically laminated windshield.
On a windshield, BC tolerates film only along the top edge, in a strip 75 mm deep at most, and the camera’s line of sight has to stay open even there. Driver-assist cameras and windshield film covers what carmakers say. Check whether that recall applies to your VIN.
Is front-window tint legal on a Tucson in BC?
No. BC’s regulation, MVAR s. 7.05(8), keeps film to the side glass rearward of the driver, that narrow windshield strip, and back glass on a vehicle that has a mirror outside each front door, which every Tucson does. The Tucson’s front doors, glazed with solar glass rather than privacy glass, can’t legally carry any film at all, however light.
A customer can still ask for front-door film, and the shop will fit it once the fine and the inspection fallout have been explained. More on that at front window tint and BC law.
How do you book Tucson tint in Langley?
Tell the shop the year, the trim (the 2026 lineup runs Preferred, Preferred with the Trend Package, N Line and Ultimate, plus the Hybrid Night Edition) and the powertrain, then choose ATC, IRX or AIR and say whether the sunroof is in. A Tucson is normally a one-day visit. The Tucson window tint quote form gets you a price, and the paint side is on Hyundai Tucson PPF.
