How much is window tint on a Navigator?
Every window aft of the front doors is covered from $260 in LLumar ATC: the rear doors, the quarter glass along the third row and the window in the split gate. It’s priced as the shop’s full-size SUV package, and the Navigator L starts from the same figure.
| Navigator glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, quarters, split gate window | LLumar ATC | $260 |
| The same windows | IRX or AIR ceramic | Quoted per package |
| Panoramic Vista Roof (Reserve, Black Label) | Any | Quoted per vehicle |
| Driver and front passenger doors | Any | $160, not road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield, inside | Any | $200, legal only in the top 75 mm |
The patterns are cut on a plotter for the Navigator’s year and wheelbase, then each piece is heat-shrunk onto its glass and fitted by hand. The film itself is under LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty, and the shop’s lifetime warranty covers the labour. Adding the roof in the same visit normally costs less than booking the two separately.
How dark is a Navigator’s glass from the factory?
Dark at the back on every current trim. The 2027 Premiere, Reserve and Black Label pages all list “Privacy Glass for Rear Door, Quarter and Split Gate Windows” as standard. Lincoln doesn’t publish a light-transmission figure for it, so look at samples against your own glass rather than trusting a chart.
Film darkens whatever is already there by its own fraction, so 20% film on 20% glass ends near 4%. For heat without much change in look, AIR 80 measures 77% visible light on LLumar’s spec sheet and rejects 60% of infrared energy (IRER). IRX 15 measures 20% and rejects 59% of total solar energy (TSER), against 40% for the dyed ATC 15. All of them block over 99% of UV.
How is the split gate window tinted?
Like any other rear window, on the inside face of the glass. Lincoln describes the split gate as an upper section that lifts and a lower section that folds down to make a flat surface, and the window sits in the upper liftgate. Ford’s TSB 25-2387 for the 2025 Navigator calls the seal around it the “back window liftgate seal”.
The Premiere page lists a rear window defroster with a hidden intermittent wiper and washer, so the film goes over the heating lines inside while the wiper works on the outside. On Reserve and Black Label, the Panoramic Vista Roof is a separate piece of glass, priced once measured; the sunroof tint page explains roof film.
What does BC law allow on a Navigator?
Any shade on the rear doors, the quarters and the split gate window, because the Navigator has outside mirrors on both sides and MVAR s. 7.05(8) only restricts glass beside and in front of the driver. Lincoln fits “Acoustic Laminated Side Door Glass”, and laminated or not, the front door windows can’t take film legally in BC. The shop does it on request after explaining the ticket, typically $109 per the Mission RCMP, and the risk of an order to remove it and pass inspection; the rules for front side windows in BC has the rest.
On the windshield, BC permits film only along the top 75 mm. Ford’s SSM 53842 for the 2025 Navigator adds a detail worth knowing: the glass has “UV coating that may block RFID transmission” and a shaded, uncoated area for transponders “in front of the rear-view mirror, next to the camera console”. If a toll or gate transponder sits in that area, mention it before any windshield strip is planned. Tinting a windshield with a driver-assist camera covers the camera side.
Booking Navigator tint in Langley
List the model year and trim, say whether it’s the regular body or the L and whether it has a Vista Roof, and name the film you have in mind. Send it through the Navigator tint quote form or by text to 604 534 6433.
The rear package on a vehicle this size runs two to four hours, so it’s normally a same-day visit. Afterwards, the windows need to stay up for three to five days of curing, and any slight haze in the first week fades by itself.
