How much is AMG GT window tint?
The GT uses the sports coupe package, so its glass behind the doors starts at $220 in LLumar ATC, back window included. IRX or AIR ceramic on that glass is quoted as an upgrade.
| AMG GT glass | What’s included | From |
|---|---|---|
| Behind the doors | Any side glass behind the doors, plus the back window | $220 |
| Ceramic upgrade | IRX or AIR on the same panes | Quoted per package |
| Door windows | The driver’s and passenger’s door glass | $140 if requested; not legal on BC roads |
| Windshield | Full pane, applied from inside the car | $200; only the top 75 mm is legal |
The plotter cuts each piece from the GT’s pattern for its year and generation, and the film is shrunk to the curves by hand, with no blade near the glass or the seals around it. The film carries LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty, and the shop stands behind its labour for life. Every package is on the window tint price list, and coupe window tint explains how the class works.
Who sits behind the AMG GT’s back glass?
It depends on the generation. Mercedes-Benz USA’s 2020 AMG GT Coupe specifications describe a “two-door, two passenger coupe”, so on a first-generation GT the glass behind the doors sits over luggage, not people.
The second generation changed that. Mercedes says it answered owners who wanted more everyday use by offering 2+2 seating, per its 2024 GT 63 PRO release, and the AMG GT Coupe page says the rear seats are standard on the GT 43 and optional on other models, with room for two small passengers or child seats. The seatback folds into a cargo area reached through a hands-free power liftgate.
If children ride back there, the film is doing health work as well as styling. Every LLumar film the shop sells blocks more than 99% of UV, and the Skin Cancer Foundation points out that side and back windows are usually tempered glass, which it says does not block UVA rays effectively.
What makes the GT’s glass different to tint?
Its shape. Mercedes’s 2023 launch release describes the second-generation coupe’s “steeply raked windshield” and “sleek greenhouse”, and on that car the back glass is part of the liftgate.
Curved back glass takes the most heat-shrinking, which is where hand fitting matters on a coupe. If the back glass is ever re-tinted, old film comes off with steam rather than blades so any defroster grid survives. On the windshield, the head-up display is standard on the GT 63 models and optional on the others, according to Mercedes-Benz USA; BC only allows film in the top 75 mm of that glass, so tell the shop what’s fitted if you want a strip.
Which AMG GT windows can be filmed legally in BC?
Only the glass behind the driver. MVAR s. 7.05(8) limits side-window film to windows behind the driver’s seat, and allows it on the back window only if the car has an outside mirror on each side. On a two-door GT, that means the glass behind the doors and the back window, at any darkness.
The door glass is the GT’s front side window, and the rule allows no film on it, clear film included. The shop will fit film there ($140), or across the whole windshield ($200), if asked, but neither is road-legal: a ticket typically costs $109, and an officer can require the film removed and the GT inspected. You’ll hear that first, and the page on tinting front windows in BC explains the rule.
How do you book AMG GT tint in Langley?
Give the shop the year and model (GT 43, GT 55, GT 63 or an earlier GT, GT C or GT R) and the film you want. On LLumar’s performance data sheet, IRX rejects 50 to 62% of total solar energy against 28 to 44% for ATC, and AIR 80 keeps 77% of visible light while rejecting 60% of infrared energy.
Most cars leave the same day. If a filmed window rolls down, keep it up for three to five days; a faint haze over the first few days is moisture leaving the film. Paint film suits the same visit; see AMG GT PPF. Book through the AMG GT tint quote form or ring 604 534 6433.
