How much does it cost to tint a Mitsubishi Outlander?
$260 in LLumar ATC for the rear glass: two rear door windows, the side windows beside the third row and the liftgate. IRX or AIR ceramic on the same windows is quoted per package, and the sunroof is a separate quote.
| Outlander glass | Film | From |
|---|---|---|
| Rear doors, third-row side glass, liftgate | LLumar ATC dyed | $260 |
| Rear windows, ceramic upgrade | LLumar IRX or AIR | Quoted by package |
| Power panoramic sunroof | Any | Quoted per vehicle |
| Front doors | Any | $140, never road-legal in BC |
| Full windshield from inside | Any | $200; the top 75 mm is the legal limit |
The film is plotter-cut to the Outlander’s exact year and shape, then shrunk and squeegeed onto each pane by hand, so nothing sharp touches the glass. A lifetime warranty covers both film and workmanship. Prices for other body styles are on the window tint price list.
Will window film upset the Outlander’s tire pressure sensors?
Not the films the shop fits. Mitsubishi’s 2026 Outlander owner’s manual says: “Do not place metalized film or any metal parts (antenna, etc.) on the windows. This may cause poor reception of the signals from the tire pressure sensors, and the TPMS will not function properly.”
That warning is about metal in the film. LLumar ATC is a dyed film, and IRX and AIR are ceramic, so none of them carries a metal layer. It’s worth asking that question of any shop before tinting an Outlander; the broader answer is in whether window tint blocks cell or GPS signal.
What changes on an Outlander with the digital rearview mirror?
The back glass becomes part of the camera’s view. Mitsubishi Canada lists a frameless digital rearview mirror on the 2026 GT Premium and Noir, and the manual says that if its picture is unclear, you should clean the rear window in front of the mirror’s camera unit, since an oily film on that glass can blur it.
So the camera looks out through the rear window, and whatever film is on that window sits in its line of sight as well as yours. Very dark film cuts the light reaching it, most noticeably at night. On those two trims, a lighter shade or AIR on the back glass keeps more light for the camera; AIR 80 passes 77% of visible light on LLumar’s spec sheet while rejecting 60% of infrared energy (IRER).
Which Outlander trims have the panoramic sunroof and door sunshades?
Mitsubishi Canada lists a power panoramic sunroof with sunshade from the SE up for 2026, and rear door pull-up sunshades from the GT up. The base ES already seats seven, five plus two.
The pull-up shades and the film do different jobs: a shade covers the rear door glass when someone raises it, and film works on every rear window all the time. Roof glass gets its own quote; see how panoramic roofs are tinted.
Outlander windshields and front doors under BC law
MVAR s. 7.05(8) bars film from the Outlander’s front door windows and from all but the top 75 mm of its windshield. Every window behind the driver can take any shade, the liftgate included, because the Outlander has mirrors on both sides.
Mitsubishi puts a lot on that windshield. The manual places the front camera unit on the windshield in front of the inside mirror, and the 2026 GT adds a 10.8-inch head-up display. On request the shop will still film the front doors or the full windshield, once you’ve heard the catch: none of it is road-legal here, it can draw a $109 ticket and a removal order, and it won’t pass a BC inspection. Tinting front windows in BC goes through the rule.
Booking an Outlander in Langley
Send the year, the trim, whether it’s the PHEV and which film you’re leaning towards. Mention the digital mirror if your Outlander has one. If there’s a Nissan in the driveway as well, the Rogue tint page covers it.
Most Outlanders are done the same day. Keep the windows closed for three to five days, and clean the film with a soft microfibre and an ammonia-free cleaner. Ask through the Outlander tint quote form or call 604 534 6433.
