What does Porsche 911 window tint cost?
A 911 coupe is priced on the shop’s sports coupe package: $220 in LLumar ATC for the panes behind the driver. Ceramic IRX or AIR on the same glass is an upgrade quoted per package, and the open-top 911s are priced from their own rear glass.
| 911 glass | What’s covered | From |
|---|---|---|
| Coupe rear glass | Both quarter windows and the back glass | $220 |
| Ceramic upgrade | The same panes in IRX or AIR | Quoted per package |
| Targa rear window | The wraparound laminated pane | Quoted per car |
| Cabriolet rear window | The heated glass window in the soft top | Quoted per car |
| Door windows | Driver’s and passenger’s door glass | $140, not road-legal in BC |
| Windshield, whole pane | Fitted from inside the car | $200; BC permits film only in a 75 mm top band |
The film for your 911 comes off a computer-driven plotter already shaped to its year and model, so no knife touches the glass or the paint around it; it’s then heat-formed and laid by hand. LLumar’s lifetime limited warranty covers the film and the shop’s lifetime warranty covers the work. The coupe window tint page explains why sloping back glass like the 911’s takes longer than a sedan’s.
How does the glass differ between a 911 Coupé, Cabriolet and Targa?
Behind the doors, each body style has different glass. In Porsche’s 2024 press kit for the new 911, the Carrera and Carrera GTS come as Coupé and Cabriolet, and the all-wheel-drive GTS is also built as the Targa 4 GTS.
- Coupé. A small fixed quarter window on each side and a long, sloping back glass, the three panes in the $220 package.
- Cabriolet. Porsche Canada describes “the fully automatic fabric soft top with heated glass rear window”. The rear window sits in the folding top rather than in the body.
- Targa. Porsche calls its rear glass “the wraparound glass rear window made of weight-optimized laminated safety glass”. It curves around the rear of the cabin as a single pane, so it’s shaped by hand with heat like any compound curve, only larger.
Laminated glass on its own lets through only about 2% of UVA, according to a 2025 study in Archives of Dermatological Research, so on a Targa the film earns its place mainly through heat and glare. Every LLumar film on the spec sheet is rated above 99% UV rejection either way, and IRX’s total solar energy rejection runs from 50% at its lightest to 62% at its darkest.
Which 911s has Brookswood Tint filmed?
Two in the shop’s photo library. A black 991.2 GT3 had every pane filmed in LLumar AIR and IRX, and a silver Turbo S went into CTX 15, a ceramic film that passes 20% of visible light on LLumar’s sheet.
CTX isn’t on the current menu; it’s fitted on request, and IRX 15 is the listed ceramic at the same measured 20%. AIR is the near-clear option, with AIR 80 passing 77% of visible light while rejecting 60% of infrared energy, which suits owners who want heat control without darkening the car.
What does BC law allow on a 911?
Film can go on every pane behind the driver at any darkness: the coupe’s quarter windows and back glass, and the rear window of a Cabriolet or Targa, since every 911 has a mirror on each door. The door glass and all but the top 75 mm of the windshield must stay clear.
The 911’s door windows are frameless, as the photo at the top shows, but they’re still the front side windows under MVAR s. 7.05(8), and clear film counts too. The shop fits them for $140 on request after explaining that they aren’t road-legal. Police can write a ticket, usually $109, and add an order to strip the film and have the car inspected. The rest is on whether you can tint front windows in BC.
How do you book 911 tint in Langley?
Send the year, the model (Carrera, GTS, Turbo, GT3 or another) and the body style, plus the film and shade you’re considering for each pane. A Targa or Cabriolet is quoted from its rear window, so say which you have.
Most cars are done the same day. Leave the windows closed for three to five days afterwards, and use only ammonia-free cleaner on the film. Phone 604 534 6433 or use the 911 tint quote form for a figure. If the front of the car needs protecting too, 911 PPF lists the packages.
