Booking several jobs together usually comes in under their list prices added up. The whole menu is on the window tint price list.

Can the 4Runner’s roll-down rear window take film?

Yes, and it’s tinted like any moving door glass. Toyota calls the power rear window “a signature element found across all generations of 4Runner” on its 4Runner page, and the sixth generation kept it.

The film goes on the inside face, so it travels with the glass into the back door. What changes is the aftercare. Toyota’s 2025 4Runner owner’s manual says the window can be opened from the cabin switch or with the key from outside, and that the rear wiper, washer and defogger won’t work unless it’s fully closed. Keep it up, and leave the key’s rear window button alone, for three to five days while the film cures. The defroster lines keep working under the film; tinting over rear defroster lines explains why.

How dark are a 4Runner’s rear side windows from the factory?

Darker than the front doors. Toyota Canada’s 2026 4Runner specifications list rear side window privacy glass on every grade, from the SR5 to the Trailhunter, with no light-transmission figure published.

Behind the rear doors sits the quarter glass Toyota’s 2025 launch release calls the legacy “wrap over” quarter glass, brought back as a nod to the first and second generations. Like the rest of the glass behind the driver, it can take any shade in BC. Film over dark glass adds up quickly: two layers that each pass about a fifth of the light leave around 4%. If you mainly want heat out, LLumar AIR 80 keeps 77% of visible light and rejects 60% of infrared energy (IRER) on LLumar’s spec sheet, with over 99% UV blocked.

Which 4Runner glass is acoustic, and what’s on the windshield?

The front side glass on every 2026 grade, plus the windshield on most of them. Toyota Canada lists acoustic front side glass across the range and an acoustic windshield on every grade except the SR5 and TRD Sport. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and the Platinum adds a head-up display.

Those front panes are the ones BC keeps clear. MVAR s. 7.05(8) allows film on side windows behind the driver, on the rear window with mirrors on both sides, and only on the top 75 mm of the windshield. Toyota’s manual says separately: “Do not attach window tint to the windshield.” Front-door film is fitted on request but isn’t road-legal; Mission RCMP says a ticket typically means $109 and police can order the vehicle inspected. The shop explains that before you choose, and can you tint front windows in BC has the full rule.

Does a 2010–2024 4Runner use the same pattern?

No. Toyota dates the fifth generation from 2010 to 2024 and the sixth from 2025, and the newer body has different glass, including the returning wrap-over quarter windows. Give the shop your year and the film is cut for that generation.

Both generations have the roll-down rear window, so the aftercare is the same: keep it closed until the film has cured.

How do you book 4Runner tint in Langley?

Send the model year and grade, the film you have in mind and whether the moonroof is part of the job. On a 2026, every grade except the SR5 and Trailhunter has one.

Most 4Runners are done in a day. Afterwards, keep every window up, rear window included, for three to five days, and clean the film with soft microfibre and an ammonia-free cleaner. Questions about toyota 4Runner window tint

01Will the 4Runner's rear defogger still work with film on the back window?

Yes. The film goes on the inside over the heating lines. Toyota's manual notes the rear wiper, washer and defogger only work when the power rear window is fully closed, film or no film.

02Does a Trailhunter have a moonroof to tint?

No. Toyota Canada's 2026 specifications delete the moonroof on the Trailhunter in favour of a roof rack, so there's no roof glass to quote.

03Can I lower the rear window for the dog the week after tinting?

Wait three to five days. Remember the key can lower that window from outside as well as the switch inside, so keep both untouched until the film has cured.

04How long does a 4Runner take?

A full SUV tint usually takes two to four hours and most go home the same day. Old film coming off first adds time.
