What does a Tacoma tint job cost?

From $240 in LLumar ATC, a Tacoma Double Cab gets its two rear door windows and its back glass tinted, slider included. Ceramic film costs more and is quoted for each package; moonroof film is a separate figure.

Tacoma glass Film From
Rear doors plus back glass or power slider LLumar ATC, 5 to 50% $240
The same glass in IRX or AIR Ceramic film Quoted per package
Moonroof, where fitted Any of the three Quoted separately
Front doors Any $160, not road-legal in BC
Full windshield, from the inside Any $200, not road-legal in BC

Toyota Canada’s 2026 Tacoma specifications list only 4X4 Double Cab models, gas and hybrid, so a current Tacoma always has the rear doors this package is built around. On LLumar’s spec sheet, all three films block over 99% of UV. The truck tint page covers other cab styles.

Can the Tacoma’s power sliding rear window be tinted?

Yes. The sliding pane and the fixed glass around it are each cut to shape on the plotter, so the slider keeps working once the film cures. Toyota Canada lists the power sliding rear window on every 2026 package except the SR5 and SR5+; where the back glass is one fixed pane, it’s filmed as one piece.

Two details from Toyota’s owner’s manual matter after the job. The power back window can still be operated for about 43 seconds after the engine switch goes to ACC or off, so a passenger can open it by habit; keep it closed for the three to five days of curing. And the specifications name privacy glass only for the rear side windows, not the back window, so check whether your back glass matches the rear doors before you pick a shade. Film and privacy glass multiply, so a 20% film over 20% glass ends up near 4%.

Which Tacoma grades have acoustic glass or a moonroof?

The premium and hybrid ones. Toyota Canada lists acoustic glass for both the windshield and the front side windows on the TRD Sport Premium, the TRD Off Road Premium and all four hybrid packages, and a power slide and tilt moonroof on those grades plus the TRD Sport+.

The acoustic side glass is on the front doors, the windows BC keeps film off entirely, so on a Tacoma it never affects the legal rear package. Tinting acoustic laminated side glass explains how film and laminated panes get along.

How does BC’s tint rule apply to a Tacoma?

Behind the driver, any shade; in front of the driver, nothing below the windshield’s top 75 mm. Under MVAR s. 7.05(8) the slider counts as the rear window, which may carry film because the Tacoma has a mirror outside each front door. The front doors may not, at any shade. The shop fits them on request for $160 and explains first that a ticket, a police order to remove the film and a failed inspection can follow; the BC front-window answer covers the rest of the rule.

Toyota goes further on the windshield. In the Toyota Safety Sense pages of the 2026 Tacoma owner’s manual, Toyota tells owners outright that window tint doesn’t belong on the windshield. The same pages bar stickers, transparent ones included, from the glass in front of the camera. On a Tacoma, then, the top-strip question is answered by Toyota before BC’s rule comes into it.

How do you book a Tacoma, and how should the tinted glass be cleaned?

Send the year, the grade and whether the back glass slides, and say which film you want. A full tint is usually done the same day in two to four hours. Expect a light haze for the first week; it clears as the film dries.

For cleaning, follow Toyota as well as the film’s needs. The manual’s interior cleaning advice says not to use glass cleaner on the back window, because it can damage the defogger heater wires or antenna, and to wipe with a cloth dampened in lukewarm water, in strokes parallel to the wires. On the side glass, a soft microfibre and an ammonia-free cleaner keep the film clear. Ask for a price on the Tacoma tint request form, or phone 604 534 6433 with the truck’s grade and year.

Questions about toyota Tacoma window tint

01Does the Tacoma's slider still open and close after tint?

Yes, once the film has cured, because the moving pane gets its own piece of film. Keep it closed until the film has had three to five days to set, as with the door glass.

02Can you tint the Tacoma's moonroof?

Yes. Roof glass takes film and is quoted separately from the side windows. Toyota Canada lists the power slide and tilt moonroof on the TRD Sport+, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off Road Premium and every hybrid package.

03Is an older Tacoma tinted the same way?

The process is the same and the rear package price starts at $240. The pattern is cut for your model year and cab, so give both when you ask; a cab without full rear doors doesn't match the five-window package and gets its own quote.

04Which film suits a work Tacoma that sits in the sun?

IRX if heat is the main complaint. On LLumar's spec sheet, IRX's total solar energy rejection (TSER) runs from 50% to 62% across its shades; the dyed ATC sits at 28% to 44%.
