How is an M3 ceramic coating priced?
Per car, and mostly by the paint work underneath. Paint thickness is measured before any machine work, and that reading sets how much correction an M3 can safely take.
| Package | What gets coated | Layers and prep |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | The paint | One layer; prep set after inspection |
| Performance | Paint, glass, and the wheels’ faces | Two layers over a two-stage correction |
| Signature | Paint, film, wheels, glass and trim | Four layers over a full correction |
A two-stage correction is a one- or two-day job; a multi-stage restoration needs three days or more and is quoted after an inspection. Paint correction explains each stage.
Which paint does your M3 wear?
Check the colour name first, because it decides the whole plan. In its 2020 launch release, BMW Canada offered the M3 in two solid colours, eight metallics and five Frozen matte finishes:
| Type | Colours BMW listed |
|---|---|
| Solid | Alpine White, São Paulo Yellow |
| Metallic | Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, Isle of Man Green, Portimao Blue, Toronto Red, plus BMW Individual Oxide Grey, Tanzanite Blue and Dravit Grey |
| Frozen (matte) | Frozen Black, Frozen Dark Grey, Frozen Orange, Frozen Portimao Blue, Frozen Brilliant White |
Special models add more. The M3 CS offered an exclusive BMW Individual Frozen Solid White metallic, and the 2027 CS Handschalter offers Imola Red II and Techno Violet Metallic from BMW Individual. On a dark gloss colour such as Black Sapphire, swirls show readily; see ceramic coating on a black car.
Can a Frozen M3 be ceramic coated?
It can, with a different method from gloss paint. BMW’s own paint shop treats matt paint differently: in a 2021 release from Plant Leipzig, BMW says flaws in a matt finish can’t be fixed the way gloss paint is, and that each matt car takes 30 minutes longer to prepare.
So a Frozen M3 isn’t machine-polished before coating, and the coating has to suit a flat finish. Marks already in the paint stay under the coating. Ceramic coating for matte paint covers the method.
Which black and carbon parts of an M3 need separate care?
The gloss black aero band, the mirrors and spoiler, and anything carbon. BMW’s 2020 release describes a band of gloss black made up of the extended sills and the aero pieces on both bumpers, high-gloss black mirrors and rear spoiler, a black rear diffuser, and black chrome exhaust tips on every M3.
- Carbon. Order the M Carbon Exterior Package, described in the 2025 release, and the intake inlays, diffuser, mirror caps and spoiler are carbon. CS models leave more carbon exposed, including the roof and the channels along the hood.
- Tailpipes. The CS finishes its tailpipes in matte black.
- Brake calipers. Blue, red or black on M Compound brakes, and gold on M Carbon ceramic brakes.
Trim and wheels are part of Signature; on the two smaller packages, ask for extra parts by name.
Does PPF go on an M3 before the coating?
Yes, when an M3 is getting both. That order lets one coating cover film and bare paint alike, which is why film appears in the Signature package’s list of coated surfaces. Film prices for the nose and sills are on M3 PPF, and coating over PPF goes into how the layers combine.
How do you book an M3 ceramic coating in Langley?
Pricing needs the model year, version and paint name, a few daylight photos, and whether the car already wears film. Of its one to three days at the shop, the bulk goes to correction and letting the layers cure. After pickup, give it 24 hours before it gets wet. Prices come from the coating request form, or by phoning 604 534 6433.
