How much is PPF on a BMW M3?
The same four LLumar Platinum packages as any car, from $850 to $4,000. On an M3 they’re starting points: the fender vents, the deep intakes and any carbon parts add work to the templates.
| Package | What it covers on an M3 | From | Shop’s suggestion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Nose of the hood and fenders, bumper, headlights and mirrors | $850 | Mostly city driving |
| Full Front | The entire hood and both front fenders, with bumper, lamps and mirrors | $1,550 | Regular highway use |
| Track Package | Full Front plus the sills, A-pillars and a strip along the roof’s front | $1,900 | Highway 1 commuting or track days |
| Full Vehicle | The whole painted body and the headlight lenses | $4,000 | Frozen paint, or a car you plan to keep |
Shop time is roughly one day for the Partial Front and stretches to three to five days when every panel is filmed. Light swirls in Platinum close up with heat. Edges are tucked around panels where possible, and if a bumper needs a relief cut, the installer marks the spot for you first.
Which parts of an M3 take the most stones?
The nose, the front fenders and the low band along the sides. BMW’s 2020 launch release describes front fenders and rear wheel arches flared to make room for the wider tracks, with the M gills set into the front fenders. In the shop’s view, that flare puts the leading edge of each rear arch right where the front tires throw grit.
The same release says the extended side sills and the jutting aero parts of both bumpers together make up a gloss black strip that circles the car. The front intakes are deep, two-section openings that cool the brakes and radiators, with vertical Air Curtain intakes at the outer edges. More openings mean more film edges to wrap, which is why the front packages are only starting prices on this car. The 2025 release puts the current car’s width at 1,903 mm. The sills are what the Track Package adds.
Should a Frozen M3 get matte film?
Yes. At launch BMW offered the M3 in five Frozen matte colours: Frozen Brilliant White, Frozen Portimao Blue, Frozen Orange, Frozen Dark Grey and Frozen Black. All five came from BMW Individual, and the last three were special orders.
Matte paint is harder to put right. In a 2021 release about Plant Leipzig, BMW says defects in matt finishes “cannot be treated in the conventional way that is used with gloss finishes”. A stone mark on Frozen paint can’t simply be polished out, and that’s the argument for film. LLumar backs Platinum Matte for 10 years as well, under its limited warranty. More on PPF over matte paint.
What about the carbon fibre parts on an M3?
They’re quoted part by part. The M Carbon Exterior Package in the 2025 release adds carbon inlays for the wide front air intakes and a carbon rear diffuser, mirror caps and rear spoiler.
The CS models go further. BMW says the 2027 M3 CS Handschalter has exposed carbon on the roof, the two channels along the hood, the front splitter, the front air intakes, the mirror caps, the rear spoiler and the rear diffuser, with high-gloss black side skirts. The splitter sits lowest on the car, so if any carbon part gets film, in the shop’s view it’s that one.
How do you book M3 PPF in Langley?
Send the year, the version (M3, M3 Competition with M xDrive or CS), the paint name and any carbon packages. A gloss car is cleaned and, if needed, polished before filming; Frozen paint isn’t machine-polished.
Don’t wash it for the first week; from then on use a hand wash or touchless bay and keep the wand away from film edges. For a price, use the M3 PPF quote form or phone 604 534 6433. If you’d like the rest of the paint coated too, see M3 ceramic coating.
