How is a ceramic coating priced on a BMW M4?
Per car, after the paint has been inspected and its thickness measured. The package sets how many layers go on and how much correction goes underneath; the M4’s colour, finish and condition set the rest.
| Package | Layers | Paint prep | Surfaces the shop lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | Set by the paint check | Paint |
| Performance | 2 | Two-stage correction | Paint, wheel faces, glass |
| Signature | 4 | Full correction | Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim |
The car stays one to three days, and after pickup it should stay dry for 24 hours while the coating sets. If the forecast is wet, pick a dry day to collect it. Whether a coating earns its keep on the Fraser Valley’s wet roads is argued out on ceramic coating in BC’s rain.
Can a Frozen paint M4 be ceramic coated?
Yes, but not with the gloss routine. Frozen is BMW Individual’s matte finish: the M4 palette in the 2021 launch release had it in white and in Portimao Blue, and the 2025 M4 CS brought a Frozen Isle of Man Green.
Matte paint isn’t machine-corrected, because polishing puts shine into a flat finish, so the Performance and Signature prep steps don’t apply as written. The coating has to be one made for flat finishes, and the car is quoted on its own. How the shop handles that is set out on ceramic coating for matte paint. Gloss colours from the same release, such as São Paulo Yellow, Isle of Man Green Metallic, Toronto Red Metallic and Brooklyn Grey Metallic, follow the normal packages.
What happens to the carbon roof and the black trim?
They need their own plan. BMW makes the standard roof from carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic and says the bumper aero parts and extended sills form a high-gloss black band around the car; on Competition models, Extended Shadowline darkens the mirrors, rear spoiler and tailpipes as well.
The CS goes further, leaving carbon exposed on the roof, in two channels along the hood, and on the splitter, intakes, mirror caps, spoiler and rear apron, with tailpipes finished in matte black. Gloss black trim and bare carbon are inspected along with the panels around them, and any satin or matte piece is cleaned and coated without machine work. Trim appears only in the Signature package’s list.
Should an M4’s wheels be coated too?
On most M4s it’s worth asking about, because the wheels are large and visible. Competition models run forged 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch at the rear, and for 2025 BMW added an optional style 825M forged wheel in a bright silver finish, according to its 2025 M4 announcement.
The CS comes on forged wheels in matte Gold Bronze or matte Black, which call for the same no-polish care as Frozen paint. Performance coats the wheel faces; Signature covers the wheels more fully, and wheel and caliper coating is also offered as an add-on. The wheel coating page covers what that involves and how brake dust behaves afterwards.
How do you book a coating for an M4 in Langley?
Send the year, the version, the paint name (say if it’s Frozen) and whether the car has PPF or carbon options. The shop replies with the package it suggests and a price for that car.
If you’re planning film as well, put it on before the coating so both are done in the right order; M4 PPF lists those packages, and M4 wraps cover a colour change instead. The M4 coating enquiry is the quickest route to a price, or phone 604 534 6433.
