BMW X5 Ceramic Coating in Langley, BC

At a glance

A BMW X5 is coated on one of three graphene-ceramic packages at Brookswood Tint: Essential puts one layer on the paint, Performance two after a two-stage correction, and Signature four once the paint is fully corrected. Prices aren't published; each X5 is quoted after the paint has been measured and inspected. Plan on one to three days, and mention it if the paint is a Frozen shade or a BMW Individual colour.

What decides the price of an X5 coating?

The paint’s condition, judged at an inspection. The shop doesn’t publish coating prices, so each X5 is quoted once its paint has been measured with a thickness gauge and checked under light, because the correction it needs is most of what separates one quote from another.

Package Surfaces it covers Layers Correction first
Essential Paint only One Not listed; ask when quoting
Performance Paint, glass, wheel faces Two Two-stage
Signature Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim Four Full

The shop’s published range is one to three days, and the correction your X5’s paint needs decides where in that range it falls. Wheel and caliper coating or interior protection can be added to the same quote. For whether your paint needs polishing first, read paint correction before ceramic coating.

Which X5 paints need a closer look before coating?

The special ones. For the 2024 X5, BMW Canada’s launch release added Frozen Pure Grey metallic to the colour range, and said buyers could choose from “around 40 BMW Individual Manufaktur special paintwork shades”, applied “by hand”.

The fifth-generation X5 carries on. BMW’s June 2026 release lists eleven colours, including Vancouver Green Metallic and, from late 2026, BMW Individual Frozen Tanzanite Blue and Frozen Space Silver, with Individual Manufaktur finishes to order from April 2027. Canada also had its own: the 2025 X5 Edition 25 Jahre, limited to 250 cars, came in Oxford Green II or Le Mans Blue Metallic from the Individual Manufaktur range.

BMW names its Frozen paints apart from its regular metallics, and a hand-applied Individual finish is not something to polish blind. If your X5 wears one, say so at booking. The installer looks at the finish and measures it before deciding what correction, if any, belongs under the coating.

What X5 trim can the coating cover?

On the Signature package, all of it; Essential and Performance coat paint and, on Performance, the wheel faces and glass. What that trim is depends on the year and package.

X5 Exterior trim BMW lists
2024 to 2026 G05 Exterior Line Satin Aluminium standard; gloss black roof rails and window surround with M Sport
2027 X5 Standard matte black side skirts, matte black rear bumper trim, high-gloss black door handles in the pillars

The 2024 trim comes from BMW’s 2023 media kit for the X5 and the Canadian release; the 2027 trim from the June 2026 release, which also describes a “larger matte-finish BMW badge”. Of the three, only Signature names trim among its surfaces. On the other two, ask for the trim to be added if you want it done.

Does an X5 need PPF before a coating?

If you want chips stopped, yes, and the film goes first. A coating gives gloss, beading and easier washing, but it doesn’t stop stones; film does. With the film in place, the Signature coating then covers film and unfilmed paint in one pass.

That order matters on an X5 because its nose takes the gravel. BMW X5 PPF sets out the film packages and their starting prices, and ceramic coating over PPF covers how film and coating share a panel.

What’s involved in booking an X5 coating?

Share the year and model, the paint name off the build sheet or window sticker, and the package you’re considering. Include any film already on the car. The shop arranges a look at the paint, then quotes.

The X5 will be at the shop for one to three days. Once the X5 is home, keep it dry for 24 hours. Book an inspection through the X5 coating quote form, and tint can be added while it’s there; see X5 window tint.

Questions about BMW X5 ceramic coating

01Can the coating go on an X5 that already has PPF?

Yes. Signature is the package written for it: its four layers go over the PPF as well as the paint, wheels, glass and trim, so filmed and unfilmed panels wash and bead alike.

02Will a coating stop stone chips on the X5's nose?

No. A coating brings gloss and easier washing, but it's far too thin to stop gravel. Paint protection film is what stops chips.

03Does a black X5 benefit more from correction first?

Dark paint tends to show swirls under light more than pale paint, so correction makes a visible difference before the coating locks the finish in. The gauge reading decides how far the polishing can go.

04What should I do in the first day after pickup?

Keep the X5 dry for 24 hours while the coating cures. If rain is forecast, plan the pickup so it can stay under cover.
