What are the BMW X5 PPF prices?
On an X5, LLumar Platinum spans $850 for the smallest package to $4,000 for the whole vehicle, before extras. These are the shop’s starting prices; the X5’s size, its M Sport trim or paint that needs correcting first can push the final quote higher.
| X5 package | What’s filmed | Starting price |
|---|---|---|
| Partial Front | Bumper, nose end of the hood and fenders, headlamps, mirror housings | $850 |
| Full Front | Bumper, hood and fenders in full, headlamps, mirror housings | $1,550 |
| Track Package | Full Front, then rockers, A-pillars and some roof | $1,900 |
| Full Vehicle | Each painted surface, plus headlamps | $4,000 |
Platinum’s 10-year manufacturer’s limited warranty comes from LLumar; in its own published terms, the shop counts yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling among covered defects. Warmth erases light swirls in the top coat. Full front or full body weighs the two ends of the range.
Does the M Sport Package change what an X5 needs?
Yes, because it puts paint where xLine has trim. BMW Canada’s 2019 X5 launch release says the M Sport version has its “wheel arch trim, bumper trim, rear underbody protection and side skirts painted in body color”, while the xLine uses underbody protection and aluminum-finish accents instead.
Painted side skirts and arch trim sit low and behind the front wheels, the area that collects grit and salty spray all winter. The front packages stop at the fenders and bumper, so on an M Sport G05 ask about the Track Package, which reaches down to the rockers, or about rocker panel PPF on its own. The 2027 X5 keeps that split: BMW lists matte black side skirts as standard and body-colour ones with the M Sport Package.
Where are the sensors on an X5’s body?
Front and rear, and on the 2027 model along the sides too. The 2019 release lists standard Park Distance Control, which “brings sensors at the front and rear of the vehicle”, and says the driver aids work from “camera images and data acquired by radar sensors”.
The fifth-generation X5 adds more. BMW’s June 2026 release says “radar sensors in the side skirts, front end, and rear” let the available automatic doors detect obstacles, and BMW’s accessory release for the new X5 mentions sensors in the exterior mirrors. Give the shop your X5’s options so every sensor location is accounted for before the templates are cut. If a bumper curve needs a relief cut, you see where it goes before the film is laid.
How did the X5’s front end change for 2024 and 2027?
It got bigger at the front both times. For the 2024 update, BMW Canada’s X5 and X6 release describes a kidney grille bordered by sculpted surfaces, “vertical air curtains” at the outer edges and a lower intake with “triangular apertures”. Every one of those openings needs a clean film edge.
The 2027 X5’s front end is “significantly taller than before”, in BMW’s words. A taller, more upright nose puts more painted surface where gravel from the car in front lands, and the hood and bumper are cut from new templates for the new body. Name the generation when you ask, so the right patterns are pulled.
How does an X5 PPF quote become a booking?
List the year, model and colour, and say if the X5 has the M Sport Package. The shop confirms the starting price for your package, inspects the paint, and explains any correction before giving a final figure.
Partial Front takes about a day, Full Front or Track one or two, and Full Vehicle three to five. The X5 shouldn’t be washed for the first week after pickup. Ask through the X5 PPF quote form. Film and a ceramic coating on the X5 can be booked for the same visit, and the X5 window tint can be done while it’s in.
