How much is BMW X5 window tint?
In LLumar ATC, the X5’s rear glass begins at $260, priced as the shop’s SUV rear package. Ceramic on the same panes is a package quote, and the panoramic roof is a separate one.

Which X5 is in your driveway?
If yours is a 2019 to 2026 model, it’s the G05. BMW Canada’s 2019 launch release called it the X5’s fourth generation, and BMW’s 2023 media kit describes the 2024 update’s 35 mm slimmer headlights and redesigned interior.
The fifth generation came next. BMW’s June 2026 release on the new X5 says the 2027 rollout “begins in October” with the X5 40 xDrive in Canada. The same release mentions “hidden window seals” that make the joins between paint and glass flush. Because film is cut to the exact year, make and model, the shop needs to know which body yours is before it cuts.

Can the X5’s panoramic roof be tinted?
Yes, roof glass can take film, and it’s quoted per vehicle. How much glass there is depends on the generation. The 2019 launch release gave the G05 a panoramic glass roof with a “30 percent larger see through area” than the previous X5, and the 2023 media kit for the updated X5 lists the Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof among its options.
On the 2027 model the roof is bigger still. BMW says the standard panoramic sunroof’s “two glass elements cover about 28 square feet”, with an opening front section. That much glass overhead is a lot of summer sun on the cabin, which is why a roof figure is worth asking for. Where does BC law stop film on an X5?
At the front seats. Behind them, every pane can be any shade, tailgate window included, with the X5’s two outside mirrors meeting the rule’s condition for rear glass. Ahead of them, MVAR s. 7.05(8) leaves the driver’s and passenger’s door glass film-free and limits the windshield to its top 75 mm.
On the 2027 X5, BMW Panoramic Vision “projects content across the full width of the lower windshield”, well below that 75 mm strip. Front-door or full-windshield film is fitted only at the owner’s request, after the shop has covered the downside: it’s not road-legal, it can mean a $109 fine plus a police order to take it off, and it won’t pass inspection. Is ceramic film worth it on an X5?
For heat, yes: IRX or AIR. LLumar’s published data gives IRX a total solar energy rejection of 50 to 62%. AIR 80 suits an X5 that should keep its factory look: the sheet lists 77% visible light transmission and an IR energy rejection (IRER) of 60%. What happens when you book X5 tint?
You send the year, the model (40i, 50e, M60i or the new 40 xDrive) and whether the roof is included. In return you get the rear glass figure, what ceramic adds, and roof pricing.
Most X5s are finished in two to four hours and leave that day. Keep the tinted windows up for three to five days; any early haze clears on its own as the film cures.
