What does a Ferrari ceramic coating cost?
The shop doesn’t publish coating prices, so a Ferrari is quoted on the package you choose, the paint’s condition and finish, and how much of the car already wears film. All three packages use the same graphene-ceramic coating; they differ in layers, preparation and coverage.
| Package | Correction before coating | What gets coated |
|---|---|---|
| Essential, 1 layer | Decontamination, clay, one polishing stage or more | Paint |
| Performance, 2 layers | Two-stage correction | Paint, wheel faces, glass |
| Signature, 4 layers | Full correction | Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim |
Signature is the package the shop puts on new exotics and fully filmed cars. Expect one to three days in the bay. Graphene vs ceramic coating sets out what the graphene adds.
Which Ferrari finishes does a coating have to suit?
Gloss paint, clear-coated carbon, factory liveries and satin or matt details, often on one car. Ferrari’s own model pages show how mixed the current range is.
| Model | Finish detail, per Ferrari |
|---|---|
| F80 | Upper body in paint, lower zone in “clear-coat finished carbon fibre” |
| 296 Speciale | A “dark colour finish of the roof” over the cabin |
| 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano | Optional 250 LM-inspired livery from the front bumper over the bonnet to the roof and rear spoiler |
| 849 Testarossa Assetto Fiorano | Exclusive livery in Bianco Cervino or Rosso Corsa |
| Purosangue Handling Speciale | Diamond-cut wheels, carbon side shields, matt black exhaust tips, satin-finished Ferrari script |
Gloss paint and clear-coated carbon are corrected and then coated. Satin and matt parts are cleaned and coated without polishing, because a polisher leaves shiny patches on a low-sheen finish. A factory livery is paint, so it’s prepared and coated as part of the body.
Does a new Ferrari need correcting before it’s coated?
Not necessarily, but it’s always checked. Even a car fresh from delivery is washed, decontaminated and clayed, and a gauge reads the paint thickness so any polishing stays within safe limits.
If the readings and the lights show nothing worth removing, the coating goes straight on after the wash stages. The new car coating page explains what’s done to fresh paint.
Can a Ferrari with PPF be coated?
Yes, and Signature is designed for it: it coats the film as well as the paint, wheels, glass and trim. Film goes on first and the coating second, which leaves film and paint beading water alike.
One surface stays out of a paint coating: fabric. The Amalfi Spider, for example, uses a fully automatic soft top made of five-layer acoustic fabric, which isn’t a painted panel. The order of work is explained on the coating over PPF page, and the Ferrari PPF page covers the film packages.
What does a coating do for a Ferrari driven through winter?
It makes road grime and salt residue easier to wash off and adds chemical resistance, which the shop lists as the coating’s job alongside gloss. It doesn’t stop stone chips; that’s what film is for.
TranBC says BC highway contractors use “salt, salt brines, anti-icing agents and abrasives” (TranBC), and the City of Langley applies brine to its priority routes when snow is forecast. On a coated Ferrari, that film of brine rinses away with less scrubbing, which matters on soft clear coat and bare carbon alike. The road salt answer covers what a coating can and can’t do here.
Booking a Ferrari coating in Langley
List the model, year and paint name, any option packages (Assetto Fiorano, Handling Speciale), and which parts are satin, matt or bare carbon. Allow one to three days at the shop, then a full day without water once it’s home.
Timing matters here. November averages 241 mm of rain at Abbotsford and July only 43 mm, per Environment Canada’s climate normals, so a summer booking makes that first dry day easier to find. Ask for a Ferrari figure on the coating quote form or call 604 534 6433.
