Which coating package suits a Bronco, and what does it cost?
There’s no list price: the shop quotes each Bronco after measuring and inspecting the paint, because a two-door on factory paint and a four-door that needs full correction are very different jobs. What changes between packages is the number of layers, the prep underneath and how much of the truck is covered.
| Package | Layers and prep | What gets coated |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 layer | Paint |
| Performance | 2 layers over a two-stage correction | Paint, wheel faces, glass |
| Signature | 4 layers over full correction | Paint, PPF, wheels, glass, trim |
Booking a Bronco in means one to three days in the bay, followed by a dry 24 hours once you’ve collected it. The shop’s ceramic coating page explains the graphene-ceramic layer and the correction stages.
Is your Bronco’s hard top painted or moulded in colour?
It depends on the year and trim, and it decides how the top is treated. Ford has built Bronco hard tops both ways.
- Moulded in colour. Ford’s paperwork for 2021 and 2022 trucks describes moulded-in-colour hard tops, with the colour in the plastic rather than in paint. Its program 21B49 replaced some 2021 tops whose unsealed edges could look poor after extreme water and humidity. Separately, recall 26V-299 covers 2021 and 2022 moulded-in-colour hard top panels whose outer sections may separate; Ford expects its remedy around November 2026, and dealers will replace the top as necessary.
- Painted. Ford’s SSM 54064 describes painted hard tops on 2024 and 2025 trucks giving off a plastic smell in hot sun, which it calls a normal break-in of the removable roof panels. For 2026, Ford Canada lists body colour-painted hard top options on the Outer Banks and an Oxford White-painted top on the Heritage Edition.
A painted top is coated like the body. A moulded-in-colour top is unpainted plastic, so ask how it’s handled: of the three packages, only Signature lists trim. And if your 2021 or 2022 top is part of recall 26V-299, have the dealer inspect it first, since there’s no point coating a top that may be replaced.
Which grilles and wheels on a 2026 Bronco are painted?
Fewer than you might think. Ford’s 2026 lineup mixes finishes trim by trim:
| 2026 trim | Grille | Wheels |
|---|---|---|
| Outer Banks | Black, moulded in colour, white BRONCO lettering | 18-inch bright machined-face |
| Badlands | Carbonized Grey-painted, white lettering | 17-inch Carbonized Grey-painted machined |
| Heritage Edition | Oxford White, matching the top | 17-inch white |
| Stroppe Edition | Frozen White-painted, Code Orange lettering | 17-inch Matte Black-painted with gloss black trim ring |
Painted grilles are coated with the paint, and moulded black trim is the kind of piece Signature’s trim coverage is for. The Stroppe’s matte-painted wheels are a flat finish, so mention them when you ask; wheel coating covers what’s involved.
Can a coating protect against the paint wear Ford has seen on Broncos?
Only partly. Ford’s TSB 25-2551, for 2021 to 2025 trucks, traces paint wear on the tailgate’s top inner edge to dirt trapped between the rear window seal and the tailgate. A coating makes that dirt easier to rinse out, which helps. It won’t stop a seal grinding grit into the paint, and Ford’s own fix for that spot is a clear tape.
That is the general split. Coating is about gloss, beading and easier washing after salt and mud; film is about chips and abrasion. The comparison is in PPF vs ceramic coating, and the two can be combined, with Bronco PPF on the front and the coating over everything.
How do you book a Bronco coating in Langley?
Send the year, door count, trim, colour, which top you run and whether any panels already have film. Extra-cost colours such as Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat or Shelter Green Metallic are worth naming, since correction is planned around the finish.
The shop measures paint thickness, inspects the truck and quotes the package that fits. Coated paint still wants gentle washing, by hand or touchless, with trail mud rinsed off while it’s wet. Ask for a price through the Bronco coating quote form.
