Which coating package suits a Mach-E?
That depends on the paint’s condition and how much of the car beyond the paint you want covered. Prices aren’t published; the Mach-E is quoted after the shop has looked at the paint, since correction is part of the cost.
| Package | Layers | Prep before coating | What it reaches on a Mach-E |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 | Decontamination wash, clay, one stage of machine polish | The painted body |
| Performance | 2 | Two-stage correction | Paint, wheel faces, glass |
| Signature | 4 | Full correction | Paint, any PPF (the Rally’s factory film included), whole wheels, glass, trim |
The paint’s thickness is gauged before a polisher touches it. Plan on one to three days at the shop, mostly correction and curing time, and add wheel and caliper coating, extra glass coating or interior protection if you want them. How the graphene-ceramic layers bond and cure is covered on the main ceramic coating page.
Which 2026 Mach-E colours are tri-coats?
Two of the eight. The Ford Canada Mach-E page lists Shadow Black, Star White Metallic Tri-coat, Adriatic Blue Metallic, Velocity Blue Metallic, Eruption Green Metallic, Race Red, Glacier Grey Metallic Tri-coat and Desert Sand, and marks both tri-coats as extra-cost colours. Race Red and Adriatic Blue are new for 2026.
The colour name doesn’t change the coating, but it does change what you’ll notice. Shadow Black and the deep blues show wash marring readily, so a two-stage correction under Performance is worth pricing on those. Star White and Glacier Grey hide light swirls far better; on them, the reason to coat is protecting a clear coat you paid extra for and making it quicker to wash. Whatever the colour, the coating seals in the paint as it is on the day, which is why correction comes first.
What’s under the coating on each trim’s lower body?
Four different surfaces, depending on the trim. Ford Canada’s 2026 pages describe them:
- Select: black moulded-in-colour door cladding and wheel-lip mouldings, with a black-painted rear spoiler.
- Premium: the same moulded black as standard, with black-painted cladding, wheel lips and lower fascias on the options list.
- GT: black-painted door cladding and lower fascias, and wheel-lip mouldings in body colour.
- Rally: cladding, wheel lips and lower fascias painted Dark Carbonized Grey, with Ford’s clear protective film over the lower sides fitted as standard.
Painted cladding is paint, so on a GT or a Rally ask for it to be counted with the body panels. Moulded plastic counts as trim, which only Signature names. The Rally adds a third surface in Ford’s own film; coating over PPF explains how a coating treats film compared with paint.
Can the Mach-E’s wheels, calipers and glass roof be coated?
Yes, through Performance, Signature or an add-on. The GT carries red-painted brake calipers with Brembo front brakes, and wheel and caliper coating is sold as an add-on, which the shop says keeps brake dust from bonding to them.
Wheels differ by trim: the Rally’s 19-inch rims are finished in High-Gloss Dark Carbonized Grey with white printed graphics, the GT’s 20-inch wheels come machined-face with high-gloss Carbonized Grey pockets or in monochromatic high-gloss black, and a 19-inch monochromatic High-Gloss Black-painted wheel is optional on the Select and Premium. Performance coats the wheel faces, Signature the whole wheel, and the wheel coating page covers the process.
Overhead, the Premium and GT offer a Panoramic Roof Package, which counts as glass. The Select’s optional black-painted steel roof and the Rally’s standard one are painted, so they’re coated with the body.
Will a coating protect a Mach-E from stone chips?
No. A coating is a layer measured in microns that resists chemicals, UV and light marring, and it won’t stop a stone thrown at highway speed. For impact protection you want film, and the Mach-E PPF packages set out what each one covers.
The two work together. Film goes on first, and a Signature coating over the film and the paint lets every panel rinse clean the same way. The answer on coatings and rock chips goes into why.
Booking a Mach-E coating in Langley
Send the year, trim and colour, say whether the car has any film on it (Ford’s on a Rally, or aftermarket PPF), and name the package you’re leaning toward. The shop books a paint inspection and quotes from what it finds.
Expect the Mach-E for one to three days, then keep it away from rain and hoses for 24 hours after you collect it. Book through the ceramic coating quote form, or text 604 534 6433. If you’re also thinking about tint, the Mach-E window tint page sets out that work, and you can ask for both in one quote.
